“The Best B&B in all of Halifax!”

We cannot begin to say how much we enjoyed our recent four day stay at this Bed & Breakfast. Situated in a cozy neighborhood with wonderful views of the nearby bay, this house felt like home as soon as we arrived. On arrival, we were made to feel so welcome with a delightful offer of a fresh pot of tea or coffee and biscuits outside on the patio. Our hostess, Elizabeth, is bubbly and friendly and only too willing to assist with choices of places to dine at and points of interest to explore. She and her husband and lovely daughter and two friendly Westies made us feel part of the family and they shared so much of the history of the area which we enjoyed. Our room was exquisitely provided with crisply ironed linens and fluffy white towels each day and the huge whirlpool tub and high end bath products were only something you would find at an exclusive spa. Breakfasts were wonderful and served in the cozy dining room, with early morning coffee and tea provided for those who wished. Of course, there was always a glass of port available to be shared whenever one chose to imbibe. We would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone traveling to the Halifax area, making it your base as you explore the beautiful scenery of Nova Scotia. We really did hate to leave!

The Pebble is just marvelous, with its warmth and beauty, fabulous suites (including the most amazing bathroom ever). Elizabeth and David are so helpful and generous, and Elizabeth's breakfasts are delicious. The location of The Pebble is perfect. It's close to the center of Halifax, while having a water view. We were very fortunate to have spent four days at this lovely B&B.

The Pebble was just a perfect start for our 3-weeks Nova Scotia roundtrip and to explore Halifax. We felt very welcome from the first minute we arrived. Liz was a very lovely host and she is really an amazing cook. For the breakfast everything was freshly prepared, like the fruit salad, the 'German pancakes' or the porridge. Her husband Dave gave us several tips for our trip, like hiking to Gaff Point near Lunenburg, visiting Wolfville and Cape Breton - we just loved it! Our room was spacious and lovely furnished and decorated, as well as the whole house. The weather was a little bit on the cool side, but we were invited to sit in the living room in front of the nice fireplace and enjoyed our evening with a glass of port.

After 3 days we unfortunately had to say good bye but this was definitely not our last stay at the Pebble. Looking forward to seeing you very soon - but first my parents will visit you next year. ;-)

Thanks & best wishes,
Katharina & Hendrik

My husband and I arrived for our second honeymoon on our Anniversary (Canada Day) and we were welcomed with warm hearts and friendly smiles! A true hostess, Elizabeth was so kind to have already made a reservation for us that night at Salty's because she knew we were arriving late and would not know what to do for dinner. She was successful in getting us in on Canada Day on the harbour no less! She didn't even know it was our anniversary! She just did that for us. And what a treat! In fact, Elizabeth and her husband David had fabulous tips and tricks for getting around and where to go. Including visiting The Press Gang for dinner another night ;-)

The Armview room is so wonderful -- a private sitting/living room, a private washroom, both off from the beautiful bedroom - a truly warm and European in feel - impeccable taste has gone into the the decorating of the room -- and the washroom was full of all the comforts of home a woman needs ;-)

The breakfasts were by far the complete highlight of every day for me: from traditional Irish Steel Cut Rolled Oats (right from home for Elizabeth) to Bircher Muesli (How did I not ever have this in my life before?) to German Pancakes, etc. All complete with home made preserves, fruit, coffee or tea and fresh juiced fruit! Every breakfast we had was healthy and complete. A great way to start every day!

We left the Pebble on the day that Hurricane Arthur (Tropical Storm) hit the maritimes and Elizabeth was so kind -- even asking to get an email report of our safe arrival of our next destination -- the humanness in Elizabeth is amazing.

We are looking forward to our return to Halifax again and the Pebble -- and I look forward to seeing the lovely family including their westies McDuff and Sive and their beautiful gracious cat Olivia.

Now if you'll excuse me, I've got a new family to add to my Christmas Card list!

Room Tip: Our room had a feather-bed -- if you are used to a firm mattress, let your hostess know ahead of tim...

When Elizabeth welcomes you, you will instantly feel like that. At least that happened to us. We were greeted with tea and scones and had the best view out to the marina. The Pebble is located in a quiet area, which is nonetheless close to the city centre of Halifax. It is also a great spot to start exploring the south shore. In every case Elizabeth had recommendations for places to go and restaurants (also vegan/vegetarian) to visit. It was an excellent stay apart from our short time. Next time we will stay longer! Definitely! ;-)

A carefully and lovingly decorated B&B with an excellent bed, delicious breakfasts (I even liked the oatmeal - and I don't like oatmeal), a huge bathroom, all clean and peaceful at a pretty location a little outside the town center but with downtown Halifax within easy distance.
Do consider to end the day with a parting glass of port at the fireplace before turning in.
The warm personal approach of Elizabeth made our stay truly unforgettable!

This bnb is well located near downtown and Point Pleasant park. The rooms are large and very well decorated. The best thing staying here are the breakfasts, they were all excellent with Elizabeth far exceeding our expectations on a daily basis. The coffee was great! She also had great recommendations, restaurants and places to visit, for our 4 day stay. Thank you for making our Nova Scotia vacation perfect.
