“Georgeous House outside the city”
Reviewed 28 November 2013

We stayed 2 nights in the Cottage Suite and it was fantastic. We have stayed in a lot of B&B's and this is probably the most beautiful house we have stayed in . It is located on a beautiful wooded lot probably 20 minutes from downtown Halifax and is easy to find from Brent's directions so you are not in the middle of Halifax action which was great with us. The home is beautifully decorated with many paintings and antiques. We enjoyed taking with Brent and Wanda-Lee. They have a very loveable cat so you can't be allergic to cats. Breakfast was delicious. Brent gave us directions to a nearby restaurant for a delicious dinner.

My wife and I stayed four nights at this B&B. Brent made us feel welcomed at his home. The room and ensuite were large, clean, and inviting. The B&B is in Bedford and is about a 20 minute drive into Halifax, however it was a very quiet area and very peaceful after a busy day. Brent cooked four very good breakfasts each morning of our stay.

The only negative for this B&B is the lack of quality restaurants in the immediate area of the B&B

This is a great quiet location outside of Halifax. After a long day of riding the motorcycles around, we found the Garden Room to be peaceful and very comfortable. Brent made an amazing breakfast each morning, we skipped lunch! We will recommend it to all of our friends and hope others see this good review as well. We look forward to returning on our motorcycles again and booking here :) Thanks for an awesome stay, we hope to see return again!

My wife and I stayed here at the Blue Forest Lane B&B during our recent vacation to Nova Scotia. The rooms are clean, comfortable and spotless. The B&B is located in a quiet forest glen away from the traffic and noise yet close enough to Halifax to be downtown in twenty minutes or so.
Brent and Rhonda are your owner/hosts and do a great job. Very helpful with information on what to see and do and restaurant recommendations.
Brent is the cook and does a superb job with the hot morning breakfast. Thanks Brent!
We would stay here again on our next trip to Halifax.

This B & B is situated in an exceptionally quiet location some way out of Halifax, so a car is essential as there are no eating places within walking distance. The house is on a large closely wooded plot which some people might find a bit oppressive.

Our room was the Garden Room, which was spacious, but had no door between the bedroom area and the bathroom - just a curtain. If you don't wish to share your bathroom activities with your companion, you might wish to avoid this room.

The owner, Brent, was friendly and helpful, but there was no sign of Wanda, the lady of the house during our two day's stay and no explanation. Perhaps that was why we were not offered a drink on arrival on a hot day, after a flight from Halifax and drive from the airport - and no water was available in the room. However the breakfasts were good.

We can't exactly pin-point why but, all things considered, a bit disappointing. Surprisingly, B&Bs' seem to be in short supply in Halifax, but we probably wouldn't choose to stay at Blue Forest Lane B & B if we ever returned.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a door between the bedroom and the bathroom!

A great location between airport and Halifax to start Nova Scotia tour. The B&B was quiet, clean and met our expections. Our bedroom was spacious and had a whirlpool tub/shower. The bed was comfortable and had quality linens. The innkeepers were friendly, knowledgeable, and the breakfast was great. We would recommend this B&B.

Although outside Halifax, this B&B is ideal for visiting a large area of Nova Scotia, particularly the scenic coastal villages of Peggy's Cove, Chester, Mahone Bay and Lunenberg,as well as being approximatley a 20 min drive into downtown Halifax. The hosts are very welcoming and my "room" was almost a suite, with spa bath, and small writing table in a sitting room overlooking the gardens. I was welcomed with a cup of tea when I arrived tired and late and the breakfasts were delicious, using lots of fresh ingredients.I will certainly stay again if visiting this area.
