Really enjoyed the bubble area and the ocean section. The information plaques were very good and the displays fun and interactive.

You can always find something to do here for your little ones and a number of the displays and themes change regularly enough to keep it interesting for visits a couple of times a year.

What a shame. The Discovery Centre could be an absolutely incredible venue for kids' birthdays and drop in visits, but it hasn't changed, at all, in many years. If you go once, you don't ever need to go back. The top floor seems almost forgotten. The exhibit on the main floor was incredibly dated and boring. Roughly 4 years ago, they had a big Lego exhibit that was very well displayed and interesting. Something like that would bring us back, but otherwise we wouldn't bother. Such great potential wasted.

Hello and thank for your feedback. We certainly recognize the Centre can use an update which is why we are moving to a fantastic new venue on the Halifax waterfront in 2016. In the meantime, however, we do continue to make as many changes and upgrades as possible to the existing Centre to ensure a positive experience for our visitors. As well, our birthday parties and special events continue to receive very positive feedback. Unfortunately, it sounds like you just missed the opening of our new exhibit - Sesame Street Presents the Body - which is already turning into a big draw for families. We hope you'll come back and give us another try, or, we'll look forward to seeing you in our new, bigger and better Centre when it opens.

We went to the Discovery Center, paid $23.00 to enter only to find that Grossology had closed and there was nothing but nothing on. A few old amusements to entertain and that is that.

The review would most likely have been completely different IF we were informed that there were no exhibits on, as we would have returned then at a later date. The display windows OUTSIDE indicate that Grossology was on!

What an utter and total RIP off!

A simple "just to let us know that the exhibits were closed" would have been great!!!

Thanks for your feedback. Clearly we fell down on the job, and for that I apologize. While visitors were informed in person about the transition between exhibits, it could have been more clearly acknowledged. We will look into making that more visible. I'm sorry to hear you didn't enjoy the rest of the Centre - we did have some extra programming in place, but perhaps you didn't have the opportunity to participate in it. I hope you consider coming back for our new exhibit Sesame Street Presents the Body which is a fun, interactive and informative exhibit that we are getting rave reviews on early. Thanks again for taking time to write and provide your comments.

My children, aged 12 & 14, found it quite boring due to the fact that most activities can be better enjoyed by much younger children. Although the Discovery Centre has 3 floors, we were there for 45 minutes, after having spent $40 (family of 4). Overall, the center is outdated and would benefit from adding activities for teenage children. Would only recommend to families with children under 10 years of age.

Thanks so much for your feedback. Sorry to hear that the experience wasn't great for your older children; but you are correct the Centre is geared toward younger children and their families. Hopefully they had some fun! The New Discovery Centre will be a much broader experience and will be relevant for all ages, including teenagers and adults - hopefully we can welcome you there when it opens and your teenagers will benefit from that experience.
