We enjoyed are stay here so much. Marie France was so helpful, she booked are stay for the next day at the Hilton in Quebec, she gave us a great recommendation on where to eat while we stayed in Halifax and was very friendly and helpful. Colin was also great , we left a bag in our room and he was so helpful on getting it to a family member. I can't say enough on how well were treated. Can't wait to go back to a great city and Hotel.

We stayed one night in the new Hampton Inn in Halifax. Being new, it is not worn at all, but the amenities are current (eg, iPod spot on the clock); the beds are very comfortable and you have your choice of hard/soft pillows (more hotels need to do this). The curtains block out the light and it was very quiet. The hot breakfast included in the room was hot! Good selection of cereals (hot and cold); hot entrees (eggs/sausage/potatoes/waffles); yogurt, etc. Coffee offered as well as regular and decafe was medium and dark roast--and, skim milk available for it. Staff were exceptionally courteous and helpful to visitors (including tourist sites; transportation options, etc.). Parking is secure and covered. The location is very central to tourist sites and the waterfront. We will stay again when we go to Halifax.

Room Tip: Ask for a room that overlooks the Citadel and Commons and the 10th floor!

Overall the property is new, very nice, very clean and very comfortable for a very reasonable price.
The staff is absolutely amazing!
We were arriving after midnight, so I sent the hotel an email notifying them of the situation and putting forward few other minor requests. Our flight was delayed and we got there way past 1am exhausted. Check-in was smooth and flawless. I'd found out that all my requests were accommodated!
They have the most comfortable beds with nice new fashion duvets - I slept like a baby!
Complimentary breakfast in the morning offered a number of choices and the food was of a good quality. I wish the dining room had more seating.. I mean, it does have 3 rooms with 3 dozen of tables, but the number of people there having breakfast was probably 70+. Surprisingly, the area was very clean and the dirty dishes disappeared momentarily with the help of just one lady-attendant. Don't remember her name, but she definitely has great sense of humour and a great personality!
Wi-Fi was free and very fast. Definitely no complaints there.
On the second day there was a small mix-up with housekeeping, however one of the front office ladies - Amelia - sorted everything out in a matter of minutes. Perfect example of a great service recovery.
I will definitely stay at Hampton Inn again and will recommend it to my friends.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from elevators and ice machines. Also, ask for a room on a lower floor to minim...

Thank you for this great review. While I'd like to think that none of our guests have any issues at all, it does happen from time to time. What does impress me is your recognition that our staff excel in the area of service recovery - thank you for mentioning that! The seating in our breakfast room is normally adequate however, I will say that from time to time we get surprised that everyone in the hotel comes at the same time in a 4 hour time frame :) That's ok - we have sorted out a plan for future if the rush comes all at once again.

Thanks again for sharing! We hope to see you again,

Stacie Bowdridge

We spent a few nights and enjoyed our stay. The receptionists were very polite. The room was very nice except the air conditioning did not get cold enough. Barely any wind was blowing out of the vent on ''high''. We were hot every night. Other than that, the swimming pool was nice but the water cold. That is probably why we were the only ones in it. Complimentary breakfasts were from 6:00am to 10:00am.The breakfast had to be attended by 8:00am or all the good stuff was gone and the place was packed. Between you and I, the food was alright; not great but hey it's free! The location of the hotel was great, we walked to downtown restaurants and the boardwalk within 10 to 12 minutes. The hotel is right next to the citadel and we even had a view of the citadel from our window.

We loved our 2 nights stay at this brand new hotel. Staff were very nice and very accomodating!!! Pool was a bit small but still ok. Breakfast was good!! The only down side was the elevators. There is only two for this 15 story hotel so the line ups sometimes got long!! Location was also perfect, definetely would recommend it!!!

This hotel is new, and the staff are very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, walking distance to downtown and the waterfront. This is one of the very best places to stay in Halifax. They need to work out a couple of issues with the internet, as our computers had some trouble connecting, but they provided an Ethernet cable and that worked fine.
