“Learning Nova Scotia history”
Reviewed 2 October 2013

We went based on good reviews and learned much about how the Scottish settled this part of Nova Scotia, arriving on the Hector, a small sailing vessel, A reproduction was adjacent to the museum. Be sure to listen to the dvd in the rigging area first. Volunteer workers making repairs took time to talk with us.

“Hector Quay”
Reviewed 4 September 2013

With having a Scottish ancestry, we had to stop here. Very interesting story about the Hector and the Scottish settlers. Got to go inside the actual reconstructed boat. The guide on the boat was very informative and interesting. Knew a lot about the boat and the people.

“Great story”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

The video was amazing describing the whole story of the town. And, how neat to walk on a real ship! The artifacts were great and we had a guide walk around with us to give us even more information. Very affordable tour!

“Fantastic Site”
Reviewed 28 August 2013

Very educational and well done museum. When planning our vacation we knew the masts were down for repair but it did not take away from the experience. Being able to board the ship and explore was great. Also having the masts down you got to touch them and watch the work being done. Fantastic Visit!
