Best Western Brantford Hotel & Conference Centre
Ranked #2 of 6 Hotels in Brantford
Reviewed 9 April 2007

From the highway, the Brant Park Inn looks old and a little bit run-down, but once we checked in, we were pleasantly surprised.

The lobby area is very nice and features a restaurant that unfortunately served very mediocre food. That didn't seem to stop it from being a popular place at lunch, although it might have been popular because it was convenient to people staying in the hotel. The hotel features a newer wing with suites but my standard room in the older wing of the hotel was very nice. Despite being an older facility, the room had brand-new carpet and furniture that couldn't have been more than a year old. Wireless high-speed internet access was free, although it was usually very slow and a pain to deal with half the time. Still, it was better than nothing.

Brantford isn't a city with tons of things to do, but we quickly learned that a bowling alley, a pool hall, a small casino and shopping were a few minutes from the hotel. The location was pretty good, although being wedged in between the highway and an active railway means that light sleepers might have a hard time falling asleep at night. I didn't hear anything but then again, I never have a problem falling asleep.

Since my business travels will have me making more trips to the Brantford area in the near future, knowing there is a nice hotel in the area means I'll have one less thing to worry about. Any traveler can tell you that discovering your hotel is a dump is a nasty and unwanted surprise.

I stayed at this hotel because I had a medical conference in a nearby city called Hamilton and the other person I was traveling with had family she was staying with in the Brantford area. Anyway, this is where I ended up. I can honestly say that I was skeptical about not staying in the city where our conference was but Brantford turned out to be a really nice place. It seemed much cleaner and more welcoming than Hamilton (that is where I spent my final day in Ontario).
So, the hotel is in a great location right off of the highway. There is also a nearby shopping mall (perhaps a 10 -15 minute walk) and several places to eat which are also within walking distance. The hotel itself is very clean with comfortable beds and relatively large rooms. I was pretty impressed with the overall service. Everyone working at the hotel greeted me with a warm smile and a "how are you today?". I guess its true what they say about Canadians. What a friendly bunch of people! Also, check-in was a breeze. There were two gentlemen working at the front desk and even though it was an extremely busy weekend, they managed to accommodate everyone really well. I met some people from Vancouver and they agreed that this place was really superb. I got a terrific rate so if you're wondering if the value was good, it sure was! Oh, and there was a good mix of people at this hotel. I saw a soccer team of middle aged men, a few families and a lot of business people. Although the place was packed, I didn't have any problems with the noise. The food at the actual hotel was typical Best Western food. I'm very fussy so I only had breakfast at the hotel. My lunches were spent at the conference and my dinners were spent at the nearby Keg Steakhouse (also excellent service by the way).
I was simply really impressed by the overall experience here. I'd definitely come back if I had another conference in the area. I hope my review helps!

This hotel is not a bad spot to stay. The staff are friendly, the rooms are average size and overpriced, and the place is exceptionally clean. It is a busy place with lots happening. So, definitely don't come here expecting a quiet stay. The food is only of average quality especially the dinner buffet. There are a number of eating spots in the area so I wouldn't worry about eating at the restaurant at this hotel. The facilities especially the indoor pool are of high quality.

We arrived without any booking, and were greeted with a pleasent smile and helpful attitude. We were travelling with our four children, so we needed a big room, or even the expence of two rooms, but we were treated to an excellent double room with pull out bed. All six and still room to Party! The room was very clean, and the hotel was proffesional. We used the pool, which was fantastic, very clean and fun. Good nights sleep what more can you ask for... And they did me an excellent room rate on top of all this. Thank you very much.

We enjoyed our stay from the minute we arrived! We stayed in one of their new family suites that accommodated all of our needs - especially the separate room with bunk beds for the kids!! The restaurant had great food & was priced right. We will return for another vacation!
