I love Brant Park! I have been camping there for a few years now. I recommend taking a drive through the park to choose a campsite--do not select a site by simply looking at the site map; some sites are more private than others, while others may be in a high traffic area (i.e. washroom area).

There are trails, but I prefer to be on the river in a canoe or in the river walking. The river is old and meandering, has many different fishing holes, numerous varieties of birds and beautiful scenery.

The park also has a large swimming pool that is very refreshing on a hot day. Food is available at the concession stand that is open during pool hours.

“Like camping in your yard with no fence between the neighbours”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2011

we went to this campground and the sites are awful. it is like sitting in your yard with no separation between u and the neighbours. we literally drove in and drove back out and went home. maybe if you like the trailer park atmosphere it would be fine but as far as real camping goes it blows. Elora is much better

“great pool, park is ok.”

Site 249 UNSERVICED TENT SITE I gave this park a 3 out of 5. This park has a variety of trees, tall grasses and shrubs. It claims to have one of the largest swimming pool in Ontario with a small splash park they also offer life jackets at no charge to borrow. The swimming pool is not within walking distance from the unserviced campground. There are only 2 flush toilet and shower stations in the park, along with out houses spaced throughout the park. I thought this park was much larger than it needed to be, some sites seemed like you would be in the middle of no where, and the park layout was a little confusing at first. One road was dirt tracks through a field. Some roads had pot holes that could swallow a small child.
The park employees were very scarce. The park over all needed a little more attention from the employees. The out house behind us was never cleaned in the 4 days we were there, and was disgusting with little black flies swarming out of the toilet. The campers across from us left the day after we got there leaving their garbage to be picked up.... which took 2 days. The main bathrooms did get cleaned every morning but some stalls did run out of toilet paper by the end of the day. We were in a radio free zone and had problems 2 different nights with 2 different campsites playing loud music. Only one night did the park patrol check at 11pm for quiet time.
This park is also along the Grand River and does have a small water fall if you follow one of the trails...too bad it was full of garbage.
We had no problem with animals other than raccoons who managed to steal a box of corn pops.
We had no idea the fist night that this park is 2 minutes away form the City of Brantford. We could not hear any traffic and with the sites in this campground so scattered it was really quiet.
I only gave this park a 3 due to lack of employee presence and cleanliness. The trails don't deliver much for a nature enthusiast, just tall grass. This campground is also covered in burr bushes most of the bushes around the campsites are burr bushes.... ouch!

$28/n unserviced
no charge for pool if camping

there is a day user fee for guests who would just like to use the pool for the day. Pool area is in deprate need of trees, or some shade.
