It is worth a special trip to this intriguing restaurant hiding in a corner of the Roseland Plaza. The entrees and main courses have familiar elements that are paired or prepared in a special way. Shredded short ribs are paired with runny egg and salsify. Delicious. Another starter featured a perfect sweet prawn, tempuraed, then sliced, sitting on passion fruit purée. Black cod, with a lamb shank dumpling, was very good, but I felt the beautiful fish was a little overpowered by the "go withs". House made gnocchi with mushrooms and Parmesan needed more mushrooms and more interest. It was hard to follow those particularly inspired starters. The wine list was very good, and easy to find a choice to match with the food. Service is friendly, if not refined. We will return, curious to enjoy another thoughtful menu.
