We had a wonderful experience this weekend staying at this hotel. We booked the pet friendly room, our check in was quick and the girl at the desk was very friendly. I was blown away at how well appointed this room was. We have not ever stayed in a pet friendly room that was so nicely decorated. We had all the comforts of home, fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The TV was a good sized screen and the chair in the room was comfy to sit in and even had an ottoman to put your feet up. The breakfast is included in the room rate and we found it to be a top notch breakfast. The eggs and bacon were hot, replenished fresh on a regular basis. They had an amazing selection to choose from. Since Burlington will be a monthly visit for us for quite a few months,we've chose to make the Admiral Inn in Burlington our place to stay. We were very impressed!!

I thought this would be bare bones based on other reviews, but didn't want to spend more for a quick overnight. I even thought they wouldn't have hair dryers based on the no frills info on website. Pleasantly surprised at a nice room (#264) in the back, quiet, with refrig, microwave, fairly large modern TV, granite bathroom, and YES, hairdryers. Friendly staff and breakfast too. I'd stay here again.

Room Tip: #264 was nice

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Admiral Inn Burlington for 4 nights in April 2013 while attending a conference in nearby Hamilton. The outside of the hotel remains somewhat drab, but clearly some serious renovations have occurred in the not-so-distant past, as the main lobby has been done over and the adjacent sitting room with computer/printer is quaint. The hallways weren't impressive, but there was nothing to complain about in the rooms! The room had been renovated, as had the bathroom, which was gorgeous. Water pressure was decent. Didn't use room service, but the check-in process was quick and the breakfast buffet continually restocked. The complimentary breakfast was your typical buffet style - toast, bagels, fruit, waffles, scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, yogurt, OJ, coffee/tea - no complaints!! The bed and pillows were comfortable, there was a flat screen tv & more-than-basic cable in the room. I read complaints about noise in a couple of the other reviews, but we had the air on in the room (a/c), and if there was any noise, the air blocked it out! There are restaurants just down the street and the hotel is located just off the highway (free parking and free wifi)! I would liken the experience to a Holiday Inn Express experience, only the Admiral Inn is $20-$30 cheaper!! Great value!

While I realize this is a budget motel for only $100/night, I would still expect some basics. I have stayed in even cheaper hotels (Super 8) and had a better experience.

Main concern: Noise. We could hear every. little. thing. in the rooms on either side of us. Every. little. word. Not muffled sounds, but complete conversations. It felt like we were all in the same room together.

Cleanliness (or lack thereof): Not filthy, but not very clean either. Dust bunnies in corners, dust on most surfaces and a few random jelly beans in the middle of the room on the carpet (not sure what that was about).

Smell: Apparently this is a non-smoking hotel, yet the hallways & lobby REEKED of smoke. We are non-smokers, so it's very apparently when someone is smoking. This wasn't stale smoke, it was fresh. Hard to pin point where it was coming from, perhaps the hotel office if the guest rooms are considered non-smoking?

General amenities: No bathroom supplies. Even in the Super 8 we were provided shampoo! Breakfast was a grease & sugar fest, so I don't consider it a perk that it was included in the rate. We had to eat elsewhere as that type of "food" doesn't constitute edible fare in our world.

Other than some rather serious issues, the front desk staff were friendly & granted us a late check-out (two hours later than usual).

I have stayed here on several occasions, and am thrilled to learn that this hotel has committed to being an entirely NON-SMOKING facility.
Now, the task is to get the residual smoke smell out the first floor area where smoking was permitted. This will take time.
2nd floor rooms are clean and comfortable, there is lots of free parking, good free WiFi service, and the hotel provides a tasy complimenary hot breakfast.
QEW access is very convenient.
Warning: there is no elevator....the elderly, physically challenged , and those with lots of luggage will experience a challenge.

Room Tip: 2nd floor is best.....your can open windows to get air.

Dear Nigel;

Thank you kindly for your feedback. This is correct, the newly renovated Admiral Inn Burlington is 100% smoke free to offer a better and healthier environment to all of our guests. The hotel does not have a public elevator, but we do offer a service elevator for the elderly, physically challenged, etc. Front desk would be more than happy to assist in any way.

We look forward to your next return with us...
