When we arrived to town it was getting late and we were hungry. The Aquastar was the only hotel other than the ugly communist one down the road, that we could see. Without a reservation or any advanced planning, we were forced to pay the rack rate of 80€. For that price, it is not a good value. There was bad wifi connection in the room. The minibar in the room was not plugged in upon arrival and everything was warm. The room has no balcony (just for a local reference, the night before we stayed in a lovely place with balcony for less than half this price). In the room, there is only a CRT (tube) television, no flat panel. The hotel was booked solid with a youth sports group and it was insanely loud all the time. And you can be sure they are not paying 80€ per room...There are 2 pools (one of which, the small wading one, was not clean), and a decent sun bathing area. But that is about it for amenities--there is no gym or anything else of added value. However, it still remains a good establishment. The air-con worked well, and breakfast I thought was very good. Service was also of high standard, and they voluntarily apologized for the youth group without us even mentioning it. Parking is ample and free. At a discounted rate, it would be a super place because it's very comfortable.

Hotel Aquastar Danube is not the largest, but it is the best hotel in this part of Balkan. Service is excellent. My wife and I had large non-smoking room (two separate rooms) with view on the Danube. It is very nice room. Cleanliness is very important for us, and it is perfect in this hotel. We enjoyed all the time (sauna, Jacuzzi, swimming pools...). Excellent hotel and the perfect holiday!

Room Tip: Rooms with view on the Danube are the best.

This was the final stop on a one week tour of Serbia where we'd been making use of the network of privately owned homes for accommodation, so arriving in Kladovo to find we were staying in a hotel came as a bit of a culture shock. OK, so it didn't have the friendly welcome of someone inviting you into their home, but none-the-less the staff were all very friendly and willing to help.
Once inside the room, you could really be in any chain hotel as there wasn't anything to distinguish it. It was a good size, well appointed, comfortable beds and perfectly clean.
We arrived in time to chill by the outdoor pool. As others have said, the outdoor pool is more of a plunge pool than for serious swimming but there is an indoor pool for those that want to swim lengths. We opted to catch the last of the afternoon sun with a cocktail or two brought to us by the friendly waiter.
In the reception area they provide a free-to-use computer and also have free wifi throughout the hotel.
It is located next to the Danube with beach facilities for a short stretch, albeit with a somewhat industrial view on the Romanian bank.
It is just a short walk from the hotel to the town centre which is where we headed for dinner, therefore I cannot comment on the restaurant facility. We had an early start the next morning so, by prior arrangement, the hotel sent us on our way with a "packed breakfast."

We were satisfied with our 1-night stay during the trip along Danube in Mai. The location is nice, staff at the reception very friendly and helpful. Our room was big and comfortable, overlooking Danube and the Romanian industry, but we actually liked the view. The Fetislam fortification is in a walking distance for those interested in history.
Breakfast was ok, but not as you would expect in a 4* hotel. Also the Spa area was not outstanding. You get there (and back to your room) through the whole restaurant and through the café full of smokers and cigarettes smoke. The seats at the pool are uncomfortable, sitting at the pool you look at men's toilet and urinal (no doors available), no relaxation room in the sauna - spa definitely needs improvement.

I stayed here for one night on a cycling trip. The staff was very friendly and helped us with our luggage, we could leave our bikes in a garage which was nice since it started to rain after we checked in. Our room was nice and clean, there is a Tv and free Wi-Fi. The spa area was already closed when we arrived so I can't judge it. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant which was very good. The breakfast was ok, but rather average for a 4 star hotel.

When i attended to a hotel Aquastar Danube, I didn't expect anything special, but this hotel is everything but not ordinary.
Hotel is three years old and located on the Danube beech.
Lobby is not very big and attractive, but very clear and comfortable. Check in was very fast, not more than 3 minutes.
I stayed in a room no 1B, and it was such a positive surprise. The room is spacious, modern designed with a king-size bed, sofa, flat screen TV, make up table, functional desk, cosmetic table, two bedside tables, large closet with hangers for clothes and all necessary facilities (laundry bags, safe for valuables...) There are the pillow menu on the bed.
The bathroom is very spacious, modern, clean and completely equipped.
There are indoor swimming pool in the hotel, jacuzzi and fitness and wellness contents.
I never get the better massage anywhere before. Top-level massage.
The staff are friendly and kind. Always asks if you need something and is there something more they can do. They are not cold professionals, moreover kind and careless hosts.
Restaurant is classic, food is tasteful and fresh, and during the touristic season they have more choices. Very correct dish menu.
I didn't try, but I get the information that they organize a cruises on the Danube during the season.
There are all necessary equipment in conference rooms, and the whole hotel has free wireless internet.
I spent three days in this hotel, and next time I will visit them with my family.
With all that this hotel has to offer, the price is more than reasonable.

Room Tip: Rooms with a view to the river Danube.
