We were served flat and watered down coke, complained and got the same again - barmaid indifferent, wouldn't recommend.

Honestly, I love this place. The food is awesome. Where ever they get the bread for the garlic bread or bruschetta, well keep it coming! The Irish Nachos are another favourite, oh and the bison burger!

I must admit, the bathrooms are pretty gross. They're not dirty, just old, worn down. And I'm pretty sure one of the sinks, the hot and cold water taps are switched.

But, its a great night with friends. You can tell the regulars. They have great relationship with the staff and it makes you wanna go back.

THE SNOOTY FOX is directly across the Blvd to the Westdale Theatre in Westdale Village, Hamilton Ontario. This cozy little restaurant has been the gathering of many students, groups and a place to eat before going to the theatre for many years. Once a Pizza type restaurant, it was embraced by it's British type food and style by many in the area.

Upon arriving, our party of three directed ourselves to the first booth that looked inviting. The table was devoid of anything at all and clean. Just as we were seating ourselves, our wait staff arrived with a cheery hello and invited to the place. We ordered our drinks and in good time were served. She asked if we needed more time to browse the menu and we said we were ready to order. Two plates of bangers and mash and one pulled pork sandwich w/fries were the orders of the day. The fries appeared to be home cut and looked inviting, the pork sandwich, a little bland looking. The bangers and mash were good, but the bangers could have been a little larger instead of two quite small pieces. It was served with baked beans, mashed potatoes and a very small piece of Yorkshire pudding with gravy on top. The bangers could have been a little larger instead of two quite small pieces and although a good taste, it left you with just wanting a little more. But maybe it was okay as popcorn was waiting at the theatre!!

A couple of things though, we noted during our decent visit. The booths aren't as comfortable as they should be. The backs are straight up and the tables a little high for comfortable eating. Perhaps they want you in and out unless you are at the bar area for a quicker turn over. We were not given our utensils or any condiments until after our meal was served in front of us. The biggest thing I have found with wait staff in the last couple of years is the fact that they say "Would you like any change?". This is offensive to many people, and even if you leave a generous tip, you feel that could be a deal breaker the next time.

This restaurant seems to have the staff trained quite well, they were clean and neat, they seemingly followed protocol in terms of the owners wishes, the food is decent but one of the areas that they may consider a change going forward would be the fact that the beans, and or/coleslaw (which was extra) be not put into a separate bowl and then placed on the plate with the sausage and mashed potatoes. We would like to think that the dishes were clean, but not convinced. If they feel separation is necessary, then perhaps, they could change up the traditional oval shaped white plates for ones that have compartments. On my order with the coleslaw on the side, I was given half the amount of potatoes in place of a bowl of coleslaw . My friend had the appropriate amount of potatoes with her order. Something to think about.

Our party will go back, but it won't be our favorite haunt.
