“Fish and Chips and a walk on the beach”
Reviewed 16 April 2014

Hutches has been a tradition in our family for a couple generations. Our family enjoys the fries...the fish is good too (but note, it's greasy good). I like the Pop Shoppe cherry flavour ...a blast from the past. We enjoy playing on the bubble hockey game and then going down to the beach to skip rocks and watch the waves.

“This Place is Vintage!”
Reviewed 1 January 2014

I have been coming to this place for over 40 yrs since I was a kid. It used to be down the strip farther on the corner bend in the road in a run down building they demolished years ago.It was beside the old petting farm of animals in Confederation Park .But the food at hutches then is still the same as now. Fries falling off your plate with huge pieces of fish and great taste, best around . Really good hambugers, shakes /drinks ,ice cream cones at back at a resonable price for what you get. Place is always busy in summer .Still decked out in the 70s with a juke box in the corner and local old pictures line the walls . Great place to stop relax in summer by the water . If sitting outside look out for the agressive seagulls or you will lose your complete lunch in a second...speaking from experience.

“Excellent and lots of fun”
Reviewed 5 November 2013

A great oasis of refreshment, after a long journey on the highway on a summer’s day, we decided to try Hutches on Hamilton's beach. The outside banner looked inviting like an old fashioned diner. Upon opening the door way, the ambient decor welcomed us in along with the delicious aroma of 'fries and burgers'. We picked up our number, placed our order by the smiling friendly staff.

We seated ourselves into comfortable booths with working individual Juke boxes at each table, slipping a quarter into the machine. The music played over the loud speaker system. The hockey memorabilia is posted on the surrounding walls. A great place for those young at heart at any age!

The food arrived and it was delicious, hot and mouth-watering all washed down with soft drink. The booth was very comfortable, too much so....trying to move after such a delicious feast left my companion in need to go for a long walk on the beach.

I can't wait to come back!

“Great food , Hamilton landmark!”
Reviewed 8 September 2013 via mobile

Just get the fish and chips! Greasy, big and awesome! Fries are the best anywhere! Been going here since I was a kid, and it's just a beach side fish and chip shop, not fine dining, if you want table service and steak, this is not the place for you! It's very busy, all the time, so, be prepared to wait and yes, the orders don't always come out in the order people put them in!! Stop whining!

“Beautiful location, amazing fish n chips”
Reviewed 8 September 2013

I enjoy going to hutches, even when the line up is huge! If you are okay with going on a hot summer day and dealing with long line ups then you wont be missing out. Hutches is right along the beach so you can eat with an amazing view and the fish and chips are always superb. I love going there and make it my summer goal!
