We stayed at the Fireside Inn two years ago and had a great time. Today I want to write about the restaurant at the Inn called Tom's Place & Bistro. Tom's Place is one of the most welcoming restaurants I have had the pleasure to eat in. The staff were very helpful. professional, and very friendly. Our server, Anna did an excellent job and has a lovely smile that warms up the room. We went to Tom's Place for lunch with friends. They did not know that we had been at the Inn before. They recommended Tom's Place as a great place to eat and talk. The lunch menu is varied and the prices are good. The food was very good. I had the club sandwich with fries. Both the bacon and the letus were crisp, just the way I like them. It was an excellent sandwich and the home fries were perfect, and there were lots of them. Both of my friends quickly devoured their prime rib sandwich bunsand dip, and were very satisfied.

I took the time to walk around the restaurant. It's two sides are divided by an lovely fireplace. The restaurant decor is rustic and at the same time is very high end with regards to all of the items that adorn each room. I asked Joanne, the manager of Tom's Place how many tables there were. She told me that there were twenty three. The reason I was interested, is that the chairs we were sitting in at our table were large and comfortable. The kind of chairs that you would sit in while sitting and watching a large fireplace while talking to friends or just having a quiet coffee. The restaurant restrooms were well lit and very clean. Tom's Place & Bistro has a patio, and is open to eleven or twelve in the evening.

We had a great time and a lovely meal. I strongly recommend Tom's Place to everyone. We will be back.

Rick B

Room Tip: Just ate at the restaurant.

There is nothing to complain about. Friendly helpful staff, beautiful, clean, comfortable rooms and the restaurant Bistro Stefan has an incredible menu. The buffet in the morning at the Bistro is to-die-for. Downtown Kingston is beautiful and this is just a 5 minute drive from right downtown.

My colleague and I were in Kingston on a business trip. On check-in we were advised that the manager was offering us an upgrade to their 'fantasy suites' and we were happy to accept them. When they booked me into their "Tranquility Base" and my colleague into "Lord and Lady" - I had imagined a spa-like setting and library-like room respectively. On opening the door to my suite, I was astounded. Tranquility Base was modelled after the Sea of Tranquility on the moon!!! The room came fit with the bed in a "space ship", an Astronaut hanging from the ceiling and all of the lunar features. My colleague slept in a Rolls Royce converted into a bed. No words can do the suites justice. After what had been a long day, we laughed in wonder of these creative suites and both agreed we would return with our partners/families. The service was wonderful (friendly, responsive, clean rooms, nice facilities). The restaurants offer great selection and quality meals at a reasonable price. The breakfast was fantastic.

Room Tip: Consider a 'fantasy suite' ... they're charming.

Having stayed in the "Tranquility Base" Fantasy Suite, it was a wonderful departure from reality and defied expectations. This is a charming hotel and worth the trip to Kingston. The service is wonderful, the amenities you'd expect from a Best Western, but an experience that will be memorable. Worth the trip.

Had visited this hotel years ago and decor has not changed. We had a King fireplace room. The room was in need of an upgrade. Everything in the room was old and showed signs of wear. The fireplace use to be natural gas and now they are electric with no heat fan, When you turn on the fireplace, the lights for the paintings on the wall turn on as well. Walls are very thin and you hear every movement. Our neighbours were up at 6:00 am and playing the TV very loud. Was not impressed. I will probably not return to this hotel. It is better to get a newer hotel closer to the center of town.

We were upgraded to a wonderful fantasy suite upon our arrival. Flights of Fantasy is a two-story room complete with a private whirlpool tub and sauna which made our stay especially enjoyable. We loved the cozy fireplace, too! What a great way to celebrate a birthday.
