“Great food, but no "ambience"”
Review of Siem Reap

Siem Reap provides some of the best Thai/Cambodian food in Kingston, and this is a city that seems to thrive on Cambodian restaurants and cafes. The meals here are flavourful and very reasonable in price. I have never been disappointed by the rich flavours. "Spicy" heat is also available for those who wish it (most of the dishes can be adjusted). At times, I have found the portion of meat/shrimp to be small. Seating and tables in the cafe are quite basic, making this a place to go for a casual meal or takeout rather than a nice meal out.

This little tiny restaurant in Kingston's West end is my absolute favorite! The food is always delicious and hot, with a good sized portion and fair pricing. The staff are friendly and the service is always quick.

Try it!

My wife and I have frequented this restaurant for three or four years and love it. Anyone that says the food isn't good here might better stick to their McDonalds drive through.

We live in the neighbourhood and have been intending to go to Siem Reap for months. We finally got around to it, and found we have been missing a lot!
We had an order of spring rolls, soup for three, and three mains for under $60 (no alcoholic beverages). All dishes were excellent... nice blend of SE Asian flavours -- chillies, coconut milk, and the rest. The portions were "right sized" -- not huge, but we had all that we needed and were more than satisfied.
The serving staff were especially helpful and friendly. They were really delightful to chat with. Delivery was quick and all dishes were nice and hot when they arrived.
The location does not impress from the outside (a strip mall in Kingston's far west end). Also the interior is not fancy. So it's get lower marks for atmosphere.
We all loved the food, and will be back again soon. It definitely deserves to be on Kingston's Top Twenty.

I have visited Siem Reap many times and have never been disappointed. I highly recommend their vegetarian spring rolls, which are so fresh, so crisp and accompanied by fish sauce with chopped peanuts. Their curries warm you through and are generously sauced. When you ask for heat, you get it. Entrees tend not to exceed about $12, including your choice of rice or noodles - both are good.

The restaurant is quite small and has seating for perhaps only 20 people, and the seating is almost cafeteria-style. At lunchtime on a weekday you take your chances as to whether you'll get a table. Fortunately they also have takeout. It's not a place where you'll linger over your meal, but you'll get friendly, fast service and wonderful food.
