We decided as a family to stay at the Lamplighter for a getaway. It was close to home but it felt like a mini vacation. We took the grandchildren and they had a greattime and as well we had dinner. It was a major blizzard outside but we were nice and warm and felt like the tropics. Could become a familt tradition at Christmas.

Room Tip: Have a room off the pool and imagine you are on vacation in the tropics

Glad to hear that you enjoyed our Tropical Paradise. It is especially nice when you look out the glass roof to see snow falling above the pool and know that you are amongst the palm trees and koi fish in this less than tropical weather. I am glad to hear that you may look to us for your next Christmas getaway - please note, Santa comes here too!

I had no stayed at a Best Western for many years and was definitely delighted with this property. The room was very clean and well appointed. We had a view and a balcony overlooking the indoor pool area. The service was very good and the onsite restaurant was reasonably priced.

We visited the hotel during March break and had a wonderful visit. This is a large place with a beautiful pool with real palm trees and lush greenery. The staff were helpful. It was a excellent choice for a mini vacation to beat the winter blues. My son loved it and we will return again soon. We had a mini suite that was poolside. I would strongly recommend paying the little extra it costs as it was well worth it. Excellent value. The resturant Shellys has great breakfast and Lunch specials and was very enjoyable.

Room Tip: Ground floor poolside rooms are the best for a family

I am glad that you enjoyed your March Break getaway. This year was very different for us as London also hosted the World Figure Skating Championship so our pool area was much quieter that it normally is during March Break. We try and offer different activities to our March Break guests including movie night, feed the fishes ,daily features in Shelly's Tap & Grill and a Jungle tour with Phil on a daily basis. We have found that our guests really enjoy being part of our whole atrium area and not just the pool.
We hope that you will think of us for your next getaway.

Took our 7 year old to stay here on a Saturday night for his birthday. Hotel about 1/2 full. We had a 3rd Floor Balcony room overlooking the atrium and pool area. Room was spacious and clean and very quiet. With the balcony closed you could not here the pool area. You could also not hear anything from the other rooms or even doors slamming in the hallway. The rooms are very well sound proofed. This is the new section of the hotel. Room was expensive by hotel room standards $170, but I needed a specific date and didn't have much negotiating leverage. But this is still well shy of what a similar room at a Indoor water park would cost. The pool area was great for the kids and they have one slide ride that was a good match to the rest of the resort, exciting but not too terrifying and a jacuzzi. There were lifeguards but they were there for the waterslide and did not do much to regulate the pool area, which was fine by me. The pool is a little deep for small children, the shallowest area being 3 ft but most of the pool was 4 ft or deeper. Also the pool was very busy, but not busy enough that the kids didn't have a good time anyways. Tips: Rooms 115-125 are just above the pool area and open up to the pool area, you can drink and socialize on your balcony there and watch your children below in the pool. If you can afford it those would be the rooms to stay in. The rooms at the end of the waterpark are part of the older part of the hotel, I'm guessing these are less costly and also possibly not quite as nice as the room we had.

Thank you for your comments. I am glad that your son enjoyed his birthday celebration.
We do offer birthday party packages for larger groups Sunday to Thursday in order to ensure adequate space for all of our guests in the pool area.
While the wing behind the waterslide is indeed the oldest physical wing, all of our rooms inside have the same decor. While they may be different room layouts, all of the furnishings and linens are the exact same. As the pool is considered a class B pool, the lifeguards are not required. The waterslide is an amusement ride therefore we are required to provide lifeguards at the top and bottom of the slide. These staff members try and keep an eye on the pool as well, especially during peak periods, but there are times of the day where the pool is not staffed at all and we ask that parents of children under 16 be on deck with them.
We are happy that you enjoyed all of the facilities and look forward to welcoming you back.
