Our room was ready upon arrival but it was not very clean. There were dead wasps in the bathroom light fixture, the fan above the bed was disgustingly dirty and we found a pair of under pants along with an unused sanitary pad in the end table drawer from the previous patrons.

The lighting in the room was terrible and depressing. The carpet was ripped, sofa's and chairs were dirty. There was no stationary or pens. The towels were thread bare and shampoos, toilet paper and coffee pods were not replenished by house keeping.

The windows opened to allow fresh air to flow into the room but had no screens. Consequently at four A.M. we had some unexpected visitors at our windows. Thank goodness we woke up to the racket of the family of racoons trying to pry open the partially opened window. The response from front desk was that we shouldn't open the windows.

The gym was very small, gloomy and crowded.

All in all we were very disappointed with our accommodations, which is most unfortunate because the location and building is very nice.

The rooms are tired looking and in desperate need of a facelift and a good cleaning. We did not eat at the restaurant based on our impression of the rooms.

We are well seasoned travellers and we would definitely not stay or recommend this hotel, under the current conditions.

The staff are great, the room was perfectly maintained, though headroom was restricted in parts as it was an attic room - I am 6ft tall. Food and ambience were excellent and the public rooms were fine. It is so superior to the chains of hotels..
Wife felt the spa was overpriced - more than the Queen Mary II for a styling,

Room Tip: Watch your head in attic rooms

If you get the attic room and if you more than 5 feet tall , you are in big trouble. Smaller than the smallest room in Tokyo, it is absolutely no value for money.
Don't be surprised if the room is not made up for days and get used to re using towels & sheets.
Wonder how the hotel managed the certificate of excellence from Trip Advisor?
If not General Manager Jason ,this place is completely avoidable.

Dear Readers,

I can assure that I am not the only reason you should stay with us at the Glenerin Inn & Spa. The experience these guests had with us could have been avoided had they simply taken us up on our offer to upgrade them to a larger room. This offer was declined by the guest and so they stayed in the room they booked with us which was a Junior Traditional Room. A Junior Traditional room is a smaller version our Traditional rooms and yes the room is small but after personally spending 2 weeks travelling in Japan I can assure you that the Junior Traditional Rooms are larger than what our guests described as being smaller than the smallest room in Tokyo. I can also let you know that once a traditional room became available for them they were moved into a larger room at no additional cost.

We celebrated our daughter's wedding at The Glenerin Inn & Spa with family and close friends during over the course of the Labour Day weekend. To quote one of our friends : "It was all so perfect. The inn was a beautiful setting, the food delicious..."

Friends and family alike raved about the venue.

The staff were so attentive to details, professional and friendly, from the planning stage to the execution. Throughout the evening, staff checked frequently to ensure that every detail was perfect.

The staff at the Spa also did a fabulous job of helping us ladies look our best.

Our stay of three days and two nights could not have been more wonderful. We will return to the Glenerin for little getaways in the future, and will highly recommend this jewel of an establishment.

We stayed two nights recently combining two packages to make up our stay. We had an evening with dinner (a promotion sold by a travel site earlier this year) and the spa for two package the 2nd night. We were in a small room in the Carriage House that appeared to have been updated over the last few years. The room being small was furnished appropriately to not feel small and with one exception (no in-room coffee maker) was well appointed with what one would expect (flat screen, iPhone docking alarm clock, hair dryer, iron and board, quality soaps, shampoo, etc.) The Carriage House is physically besides the main inn building but can be accessed via an underground walkway from the main building through the spa given outside conditions don't have you wanting to walk between buildings.

Dinner was an intimate affair with three other couples seated in a room across from the lobby (that had 4 tables) overlooking the back patio and wonderfully treed valley with Sawmill Creek below. A larger room with double the capacity adjoins this room overlooking the same view given dinner reservation numbers warrant. Dinner was enjoyable and what one would expect in quality of a low volume kitchen catering to both weddings on-site and guests booking dinner reservations. Note if staying here and thinking of dinner that is not included in your stay, make sure to let the front desk/reservations know so availability exists for the time you want. Only having 30 (?) rooms total at the inn and weddings being a fixture of the happenings each afternoon / night we were there (see below) you want to ensure if wanting to eat on-site, you have a table booked.

The spa experience (we had a 30 minute couples massage extended to 1 hour) was relaxing and the spa facilities fine for what we had done. There was a wedding party in the spa at the same time as us, and we never saw the group but were in one of numerous rooms they have in the space. Others have commented on the spa space being uninviting in the basement where it is located. It does need to be remembered the space has been purposed for a spa where the space exists in an 85 year old heritage building. I'd have different expectations of such space in a new purpose build boutique hotel - they have done well to provide such services in the space the building does offer. After the session, we were offered drinks that were brought out to us on the front patio by the spa (nice touch to finish the time there). There is the front patio (between the main building and the Carriage House) and a patio behind the dining rooms. Sitting on either during the day, you will have wait staff approach to ask if they can get you anything.

Apparently the inn is well known for weddings as Friday afternoon/evening one wedding was held and Saturday afternoon/evening there was another. The weddings were not a bother other than having us feel under-dressed sitting on the back patio Saturday relaxing (reading) while those attending the ceremony walked by dressed in their Sunday best.
Breakfasts both mornings was included in our packages and was a hot buffet served in the bar behind reception consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage, bacon and a potato along with a cold table, fruits, pastries, and items to toast along with coffee/teas. Apparently Sundays they have a brunch as well if wanting to wait for later morning ($). The breakfasts were fine and filling with it was noted not all eating had included with their stay.

Overall, the stay was enjoyable, relaxing and comfortable. You will forget you are in the middle of Mississauga while sitting on the back deck but if wanting the amenities of a large urban centre (shopping, dinner which we had off-site the 2nd night, entertainment) all are available a short drive away in virtually any direction. The front desk, wait staff, spa personnel will all have you felt welcomed as a guest. Other than my one picky point of not having coffee available in the room (though offered through room service $ - they should offer as an included service if not provided in the room) I would recommend the inn if looking for a quiet, relaxing stay without having to leave the city.

This place has possibilities but does not live up to them. This was our second stay here in two years and, next visit to Mississauga, we'll go to the nearby Hampton Inn and recommend you do too. Staff are pleasant but not effective - things you ask for just don't happen. After morning outing, we returned to our room and it had not been serviced by 2:00pm. We asked for and got a new set of towels, we checked with the front desk when we left again at 3:30 and were assured that the room would be serviced. At our 9:30 pm return, the room was still not serviced. The kind front desk staff brought us a bag for our trash and a new shampoo etc. For breakfast (in the little room the far end from the rest of the dining rooms in the Inn) when we said we wanted butter for our toast, the waitress wanted to pick it up to check if it had been buttered in the kitchen. We asked to have some butter, not have our toast checked. The rooms are small but have been updated and they appear to be trying. Time for the Inn to start focusing on communications and followthrough.

We had not planned to stay in Mississagua but our drive across Canada had this wonderful surprise. Our stay here was perfect. We loved the room, the breakfasts, the staff, the patio... We only stayed two nights and reluctantly moved on to our next destination.

Room Tip: We upgraded to a larger room in the carriage house which included a sitting area with a sofa and two...
