this is a small family run hotel, they are trying to make a go of it and have invested a lot of time to the hotel.. shame because what it really needs is a little loving care and a lot of money to bring it up to the 21st century. Its on par with a lot of Indian run motels in the Niagara area, such as the neighbouring Red carpet inn / Canuck inn & suites. its a run down area with red neck hill billy Canadians and immigrants. If you want cheep and cheerful for a night or two then fine but if you want comfort, then spend an extra $5, and go some where on the main drag. such as Motel 8.
but as I say the family are nice and its a shoe string budget motel-enjoy.

Room Tip: for a good room well there all about the same. average for this motel but not next to reception and on ground floor is my advice..

I'm not going to lie, the rooms aren't luxurious. However the staff couldn't have been more friendly or helpful. We were arriving later than the specified check in time so phoned ahead to let them know. The guy on reception actually waited up for us. Even after obviously inconveniencing him we couldn't have been given a more friendly welcome when we got there.

The next day we had a few issues with credit cards (nothing to do with the motel). The same guy on reception spent more than an hour helping us make phone calls and using his computer to find information we needed.

This motel was a perfect example of how much of a difference it makes when you have genuinely friendly and helpful staff.

Read the reviews and was left wondering - a hit or a miss? Correct, the Scottish Inn is located right behind the Post Cereal factory and there is the constant cereal smell and persistent hum of the factory operations. It is really a 15 to 20 minute walk down to the Falls (initially through a run-down neck of the woods to get to Clifton Hill then to the Falls). Unit 219...no phone, and cable TV less than basic. Toiletries in the washroom looked like they were collected from the Best Western garbage dumpster - no glassware (or even plastic!) for brushing teeth. Shower starts off with lots of pressure only to be reduced to a trickle of either hot or cold water...aaarghh. I slept soundly - my wife hardly slept a wink (bed too hard???). Air conditioning unit worked great! (what a relief with the current humidex of 41). Staff (two guys) were very friendly and accommodating - no complaints, but the premises badly needs basic improvements and better upkeep. But for the $29/night, how can I really whine about the place? The Scottish Inn has probably seen better days, but in the future we will be sticking to the more upscale hotels/motels in Niagara Falls despite the costs. I honestly would/could not recommend this motel to friends or family.

I have visited many places and this was one of the stops but it was the worst place I have visited.

Trust me, I have visited many places but this place is weird and dark.

When check in, someone mentioned that they were being secretly watched in the bathrooms.

I would think twice before staying in this place. WIFI had problems and it took long time. I didn't want to waste more time so abandoned WIFI connection.

Room Tip: Just don't stay here. There are many better places with good price. Pay little more and stay in a decent room.

the location is awful, right behind a food plant where there is constant humming and rattling. if you think you are immune to the noises while staying indoor in the motel, wrong!!! the AC is noisy.

there is not even a cup for brushing teeth. Phone forget it. The TV has limited channels and it uses some cheap antenna receiver. You may say that you don't care since you are paying the lowest that you can think of in the Falls, well, think twice, there are other motels in the same price range much better than this.

worst of all, i tried out booking.com for the first time with the assumption that it offers the lowest online price amongst other booking engine, but little did i realize that i got charged extra as i was told that it was stated in the terms and agreement, so for what i paid for the night, i could have a better one star motel than this. I know, for i visit the Falls twice a year, and i have been trying out various cheap motels, but this motel is ranked the lowest in my book.
