“Please please stay away from this place”
Reviewed 25 July 2011

my step sister and her husband were celebrating their 11th anniversary , so they decided it would be great to have the family join them . well big mistake in picking this place . The room my sister and i were in have bed bug , the bathroom the wall tiles looked as though it never been cleaned and the nob on the shower kept falling off . my sister got bitten all over and even had an allergic reaction . They changed the room but still the next day she had a row of bites on her left leg . we got back home yesterday and today she went to the doctor . please do not waste you money . beside with their breakfast we happen to go in the kitchen one not and they were boiling the eggs. That's crazy eggs take 5 mins or less to boil and they do it from the night before .

This hotel while cheap is filthy!!! The hotel is very dirty and poorly maintained, from overflowing trash to abandoned grills in the parking lot. Once we got into our room it smelled like it was a smoke house asked for a room change to be transferred to a room that had holes in the walls, exposed electrical wiring! The bathroom was filled with dirt in the grout of the shower and the bathtub looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. To further elaborate on how filthy this place was there were BED BUGS! A family member found bed bugs in the room she was initially assigned to and now has the rashes and bumps to prove that fact!! not only was the place filthy the staff was rude! STAY FAR AWAY from this place.

The pictures on the website make this hotel out to be fresh and remodeled, however, after my parents had to switch rooms twice we figured out this was NOT the case. First off, the air conditioners dripped on the inside of the room making the carpet extremely wet. When staff alerted to this situation, problem was not addressed and the water continued to drip. I don't know about you, but a wet carpet let go, would surely turn into mold and stains on the ceiling below. The rooms were dirty; cobwebs/bugs on light fixtures, dark hair on the floor of the bathrooms, dark stains on towels, dark stains on the bathtub, dirty carpets, room smelled of mold/mildew, broken tub fixtures, broken towel fixture which I considered dangerous with the metal pieces/rough edges sticking out. Each day WE had to go down to the front desk to ask for towels because none were left in the room for us. Upon asking the front desk personnel, we receieved an attitude and rolled eyes to the matter. The staff was rude, other hotel guests were rude, the pool area was dirty and looked as though it had not been cleaned in a good long while. The pool was full of grass, bugs, etc. The hot tub looked and smelled dirty (avoid at all costs). Overall, this hotel is disgusting and I would NEVER stay here again. Also, the outdoor pool is open ALL hours. Since the walls of the hotel are thin, you can literally hear EVERYTHING. At 11 PM, people were screaming, MARCO, POLO and swimming in the pool at this hour. It woke us up, and probably the entire hotel for that matter. The front desk clearly did not care there were people yelling outside at this late hour. Poorly run establishment.

READ ALL THE REVIEWS. DO NOT STAY. KEEP YOUR MONEY.

- Upon arrival, the lady was unaware of the booking we made online. Asked us to fill additional paperwork.
- Checked into the room and there were FLIES in the room, STAINS on the sheets, and a HOLE in the wall from an external AC that didn't fit properly
- Asked for a refund IMMEDIATELY, but the lady said the best she could do was show us another room. We denied it, but she said we can see the room and decide then.
- Saw the room, looked visibly better, but we still didn't want to stay there as we were already turned off. We asked for a refund and she said there was no way we could get one because we booked it through booking.com. Accepted it because we had no where else to stay that night.
- Arrived back at the motel around 1:30am to no parking spaces. Had to parallel by the entrance.
- Huge BEETLE on the wall
- Boyfriend was going to take a shower and found a USED FACE TOWEL caught in the shower curtain with PUBES and HAIRS in the bathtub. Clearly they do not change the shower curtains or clean the bathrooms.
- Received an email from booking.com that I was being charged ANOTHER $100 because I was a "no show"... even though I did check in MANUALLY
- Called booking.com and they said that they conform to the motel's policies and that it is up to the hotel if they want to give us our money back and doesn't depend on booking.com. Rep said she'd call me the next day after she spoke with the manager as there was no manager on duty until 11am
- Went to the front desk and told the man that we would rather stay in our car then stay at this dump. He offered us another room but we told him that we wouldn't make that mistake again. Told him that we were returning the following morning at 11am to speak to the manager.
- Returned at 11am to speak to the manager and the lady at the front desk told us he wasn't in yet and gave us a business card to call him later. We waited another 45 minutes and he still didn't show up.
- Called booking.com and gave them all the details and filed a formal complaint. Was able to get the credit for the no show, but wasn't able to get a refund for a room we stayed 10 minutes at. Escalated this case to the rep's supervisor. After speaking with the supervisor, I asked to escalate it even further as I believe no companies should be promoting this place. Their account management team is looking into it.
- LESSON LEARNED: Always do your research. I haven't read a single good review about this place. Keep away. The only reason why I rated this place a 1-star is because I can't select anything lower.

We’ve ALWAYS stayed in discount motels but this was the WORST EVER! Stayed 4 nights with my husband and young son. Also booked separate room for my senior parents. Rooms were dirty and in disrepair, fridge not working, towel rack ripped off wall in bathroom, no screens on windows, holes in walls, dirty carpet, cobwebs, very thin walls so you could hear in next rooms. Complained but front desk could barely understand English. Horrible, but we already paid so decided to make the best of it; at least the sheets appeared to be clean.
HOWEVER, on Friday night after coming back from fireworks we returned to a MASSIVE party going on in most of the motel, complained to office but they wouldn’t do anything about it and said noise bylaw is 2 a.m., I complained this was beyond noise: shouting, swearing, loud music, car engines being gunned, beer cans & bottles being thrown, garbage everywhere, cars doing burnouts in & out of parking lot. Scared my son so much that he was sick and threw up. After midnight, my husband & father went to office to speak to management, who were sitting in the lunch room with a couple security guards. They actually laughed in my husbands/fathers face, and said this happens every year, some sort of Sicilian celebration that books most of this motel along with Flamingo Motel across the street, said it would be much worse Saturday night. My husband said if you knew this was going to happen as you said it does every year, why would you book in other families, why not reserve the whole motel just for the party? How could we possibly sleep with this noise with a child? They said they hired 2 security guards to handle situation (who sent most of time inside motel because they were obviously afraid of such a mob. The only time they showed any ambition was when my husband & father came in to complain and then they stood up and tried to look like they had some authority). Manager finally said he’d move us to the hotel which he said was an upgrade, like he was doing a big favour and we should be gracious for this gesture?? Although cleaner, we went from a family suite to one room with two beds. Not an upgrade at all!! We wanted to pack and leave but they REFUSED to give us our money back for nights not used so we couldn’t go to another hotel/motel, refused to discount us at all for any inconvenience and downgrade in room. So we had to move to hotel unit on other side of building at about 1 a.m. and spent the rest of Friday night there along with Saturday night. Several other families that were staying at motel were at front desk complaining/yelling on Saturday morning (we know that two families left). In hotel room, we had to leave the fan running all night (since the air-conditioning didn’t work – go figure!!) so that it muffled out most of the noise. But we were awakened at 5 a.m. on Sunday to police cars, fire trucks and yelling and shouting as the parties had gotten completely out of hand and some of the revelers had set a picnic table on fire at the Flamingo directly across the street. Please stay away from this motel/hotel - horrible, disrespectful!!!!

Room Tip: Be ware - stay away from this motel

My family and I stayed here June 10th-12th. Upon check in we were greated warmly and given our keys to our rooms. We had booked a family suite as well as a double for our stay. Both rooms were found to be clean, with working fridges, air conditioning, 2 working televisions in the family suite, 1 working television in the double, plenty of clean towels in the baths, as well as complimentary bath products, coffee pots/coffee, and the family suite also came equipped with a microwave. The heated pool was lovely, as was the hot tub. The decor is a bit dated and in need of some renovations, but for the money it is a good choice. Located close to shopping, Niagra Falls, Clifton Hill attractions, and many choices for dining out. The breakfast area opens at 8:30am and is a bit small and becomes rather crowded. Would be nice to see breakfast begin earlier, as many like to get early starts on the day. We did encounter one problem with our stay that we were not aware of until heading home. One of the beds in the family suite was contaminated with bed bugs, and our son was bitten several times all over his body. This is a problem many hotels and motels are fighting and perhaps management should have exterminators out and make sure all linen is washed daily in hot water, and mattresses and pillows be covered with protective plastics, and upon cleaning the rooms, using a bleach solution to sanitize mattresses between guest, to be sure this does not happen again. Would I stay here again? Yes, I definately would if I found safety measures in place to ward off parasites and a discount on my next stay couldn't hurt either!!!

Room Tip: Check your bed for critters!
