“Great Time!”
Reviewed 7 August 2011

The room was ready when we arrived at 3:30 p.m. We had a two room suite. The television in one room did not work upon our arrival. After calling guest services, a maintenance person was there within 10 minutes and had the television working in no time. The beds were super comfortable and the whirlpool tub was great. My husband and I stayed in the room with a king size bed while our children were in the room with two queen beds. Overall, it was a great stay. The food in the restaruants was very expensive, but that is pretty much anywhere in Niagara Falls.

Room Tip: Walk or take the bus to all attractions as parking is extremely expensive.

The beds were uncomfortable, calling a room a "fallsview" room was a huge stretch. Our Air Conditioning didn't work, and to top it all off, they charged us incorrectly. Would definitely NOT stay here again.

stayed here 2 nights. when we got here our room wasn't ready. had the staff put our luggage in hold area and went to maid of the mist (walking distance but there is a bus). Bus comes right outside the hotel to attractions. When we returned to get our luggage, Stephanie Landry was very helpful with tips on where and what to see both in Niagara Falls and Niagara by the Lake. She was very pleasant and quite knowledgable. We didnt' get a room with a view and glad we didn't. You really can't see the falls unless you are on a very top floor and the extra money wasn't worth it. The elevators in this hotel are very slow. We ate in the Italian rest downstairs the first night. It was just ok and the beer my husband ordered was overpriced. Service was slow. The next morning we decided to try to eat at the buffet next door (not at the Casino!) and walked out and went to Perkins. It was overpriced and just ordinary (35 for breakfast!!!). Didn't realize how close we were to the Diamond falls (just off the the right of the hotel and across the street from the casino). Be sure to eat at the Embassy Suites restaurant The Keg...we were lucky to have a view of the falls for dinner!!! WOW! As far as the self parking, we didnt' have a problem at all.

We stay at this hotel everytime we stay in Niagara Falls because it is close to everything. You can see the falls from our City View Room. There is not an exorbitant cost but the beds are comforatable the rooms clean and you get a complimentry Globe and Mail.

We just like it here.

We stayed in a two room suite which was very comfortable. The beds were very comfortable and clean. The only complaint in the room was that the clock radio didn't work and there was no frig or microwave. I guess I assumed that a suite would have a small refrigerator. (You can get a frig for an extra charge) Also, the ice machines were often out of ice and the drink machine on the 5th floor didn't work.

The two room suites are near the elevators and ice machines - if you're a light sleeper, that might bother you.

There is some construction going on and the lobby is very small for such a big hotel.

The IHOP in the hotel was good and convenient - but very, very expensive.

Stay away from the restaurant next door that advertises a $6.99 Breakfast Buffet - what a rip off. They offer you coffee and juice but don't tell you until it's checkout time that coffee and juice was extra - $4.00 for juice, $3.00 for water, etc. - it became $50 breakfast and the food was just so-so - it would have been better to go to the food court in the casino shopping mall across the street.

We had a city view overlooking the street and it was fine. You can go to the lawn area behind the casino and see the falls without the 10 minute walk down a steep hill. Raccoons came out at night to check out the trash cans - it was fun to watch.

One last note - Pack your own water bottles - water in the area is $3.00 per bottle.

This hotel is in a convenient location to walk to the Falls, but the hotel itself is just ok. Our first impression was not good due to heavy construction across the street, we had to park our car off the hotel property (across another street and $10 per night) and the carpet in the lobby needs to be cleaned desperately. Our check-in was fast, but we did not get the two adjoining rooms that we had requested. Instead, the rooms were across the hall. The hotel was full the nights we stayed so the two elevators took forever to get anywhere.

The rooms themselves were nice/average. The view from one room was of the on-going construction and the view from the other room was of the garbage area so that was disappointing. The beds were comfortable; the pillows flat, but they had plenty so we doubled them.

The pool area is nice with the floor-to-ceiling windows, but we could not stay long as the smell from the chlorine was so strong that people were leaving, and eyes were tearing and burning. I spoke with a maintenance person who told me that the pool used to be a salt-water pool so they don't have a big enough air filter to rid the room of the smell. He did say they are working on a remedy so maybe it will be better down the road. On a brighter note, the gym, which is located next to the pool, is decent and the smell did not seem to filter into it.

It is very convenient to walk to the Falls, a casino, and a few restaurants from this hotel. We did not try their Italian restaurant. We tried to go to the IHOP (International House of Pancakes) located in the hotel, but the line was out to the elevators just to get in.

This hotel is not horrible, but disappointing enough that we will try another place should we ever go back.
