“What can you say? It's amazing!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2013

I watched the falls for hours -- so pretty. It's hard to fathom until you're standing right there. The Canadian horseshoe falls are unique, iconic, and massive. There are hotels and restaurants on the Canadian side overlooking the falls, so you can enjoy them all the time. The American falls are beautiful and wild, and rather than being flanked by high-rise casinos, they are enveloped in a really nice state park that's free if you walk in. On the American side, you can take in (just don't fall in!) the rapids. My advice is to take the time to enjoy both sides.

“Timeing is everything”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 December 2013

You are going here to see the falls. Make sure you see the history of the falls at the theater. It will give you an appreciation of the beginning and some day end of the falls, (as you see it now).

If you go in the summer months you can go behind the falls and take a ride on the made of the mist, feel the power of the falls close up. (you're gonna get wet). Great place for people watching.

Now if you really want to be adventurous, go in January or February. Seeing the ice on the rocks and the falls itself is an experience. No crowds, but its cold. Watch the projected weather reports, the Buffalo area does get some snow! Make sure you bring your best squeeze and keep each other warm.

Americans, I am sure by now you know a passport is needed to return home. Don't forget the duty free shops, but make sure you claim everything you purchase, the US customs don't fool around...That's a good thing for US.

“Beautiful, all decorated for christmas!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

They are beaming colored spotlights on the falls which change and seem to dance in the mist. Absolutely mesmerizing. They have numerous christmas displays all along the walkway including a display of South Korea decorations that are just beautiful. It was a little chilly, especially closer down by the falls where there was heavy mist in the air, but it is December after all. Great time of year for a visit if you don't care for crowds.

“Great attraction, just avoid the tourism around it.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 December 2013

Seeing Niagara Falls is breathtaking. It is a natural wonder to look on with amazement. It's unfortunate that the development around it tarnishes the experience. I'd go for the view of the falls - and then tour the surrounding countryside - especially on the way north up to Niagara on the Lake. Very scenic, historic and worth the trip!
