We stayed here this past weekend as a cheaper alternative due to unavailability at the hotel we normally book. It was adequate for an overnight bed but could use some improvement for the price. If you choose the downstairs room it is very small, with a fabricated shower built out into the room. Window view of the room is of another B and B and shutting the blinds and curtains did not filter out all the light at night. If you are in excess of 215 lbs you will likely have an issue in the shower and washroom area. Floor was extremely creaky as we tried to tiptoe around at night and we were definitely at the mercy of our neighbours above for sound. In the morning it is very easy to be woken by the sound of the kitchen next door or the other guests eating.
Bed was comfy and the room clean. Require some decent size towels and the TV is an ancient 26" or so.
Our host was very polite and never imposing.
Breakfast is adequate, fresh fruit and yoghurt, juice, tea, sausages and a small quiche, along with cheese scones. Would have liked to seen a couple of choices for breakfast as an option. There was no responsive alternative available if you have any aversion to the style of breakfast, as noted by the couple dining next to us, who failed to disclose an allergy to mushroom but could have been accommodated with a fried egg, omelette etc by the host as a substitute. Instead no offer was forthcoming.
There was no option to pay online at hotel.com and my card of choice Amex was declined by the hosts payment device something she acknowledged has happened in the past but is yet to be fixed. Fair warning it could make for an uncomfortable situation if you travel with only one card.
Location for visitors to the falls is fantastic and there is one parking spot onsite for each guest. Guests are provided keys for late access at night and we were not discouraged from keeping late hours.
As another guest accurately surmised you would not want to spend any extra time in the B and B as it has no effective sitting area available or room functionality for the purpose.
Overall, adequate sums up the stay, recommended for a no frills mid range hotel alternative just to lay your head down. For the cost we would source a different venue on our next visit with more creature comforts but would not hesitate to encourage others to visit.
