“Great location, but so-so stay”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

I picked this hotel for its location. Right on the bus route to easily get to and from the Falls and area attractions. We had a suite which was very spacious with separate bedroom and living room, and it had a great view of the fireworks at night over the falls. Hotel also has an indoor pool which the kids loved. However, we booked a non-smoking room, and technically they gave us one, but it was on a smoking floor! I asked to be changed, but it was July 4 and the hotel was totally booked so apparently nothing could be done. One night we needed extra towels, and had to call multiple times in order to get service. The restaurant was just ok and over priced. But there are a few good restaurants within walking distance. The spa was a nice amenity, but my massage therapist seemed to have a chip on his shoulder and really hurt my hand, which was in pain for a few days after.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the fireworks at night over the Falls

Thank you for taking the time to post your review. I do apologize for the delay while requesting the items for your room. Although not typical for our hotel I will be sure to forward your comments to our team. we booked this hotel at last minute looking for a nice hotel in Niagara at a reasonable price. We were more than just pleasantly surprised. The staff were friendly, welcoming and that is just the start. We arrived alot earlier than check in just to see if we could get registered and get on with our day in the falls. The front desk agent checked and found our room was ready so we were able to check in early.
We opened the door to the room, to find it one of the cleanest, most inviting rooms we've stayed in. My sincere thank you to the cleaning staff, since it's clear they pay attention to detail!
After being out for the day we decided to go for a swim....welllll I'll start with saying WOW! a heated floor, a beautful clean pool, a separate pool area for adults and a sauna....there isn't more you could ask for.
The next morning finished the night off. Breakfeast buffet started with being greeted immediately with a warm hello from the staff. We were quickly seated and our drinks were kept full :) . Breakfast was absolutely delicious...lots of variety, and if you're an egg person like me, you'll love the omelette chef.

So if you can't tell from the review, i'll say it again. A wonderful hotel, not only for the beauty and attention to detail but from EVERY staff member we encountered who made us feel so welcome.

Thank you Double Tree Niagara....We WILL be back

Stayed here recently having tried both the Marriott and the Hilton on previous stays. Have to say this DT property was similar or better in every way. The design of the hotel is a laid back lodge style and despite the 10 years or so that it's been open, it still looks very good outdoors, indoors and in the rooms. It's not a luxury hotel by any stretch but it is a very clean and comfortable hotel with typical 4 star north american amenities and furniture etc.

In a few tidbits:

- WiFi is supposed to be free for everyone, but we didn't try.
- There is a $12 fee for overnight parking.
- Staff all seemed courteous and happy to help.
- The location is between the Fallsview Casino and the top of Clifton Hill area. (Roughly 7 minutes to the former and about 10 minutes to the latter)
- There is a fantastic Italian Pizza/Pasta restaurant (Antica) about 5 minutes walk.
- Beds are soft, a bit too soft in fact!
- My only complaint, The Breakfast for Hilton Gold/Diamonds is only the bare Continental which includes all the cold stuff, otherwise you have to pay up to upgrade for the full buffet. This is typical in North America but Asian properties usually give the full buffet, server was friendly though.
- Standard rooms can still get a nice view of the falls on higher floors.
- Hhonors floor is on the 15th. floor which grants a good sweeping view.

Overall an enjoyable stay, even more so than when we stayed at the very busy Hilton down the street in many ways so I think we will be coming back here again.

Room Tip: Park the car and walk to the attractions! The neighborhood is a bit run-down (a la behind the Vegas...

We only paid $108 per night for this hotel which was well worth it. It has a nice restaurant, cafe, lobby and the pool facilities were great. The rooms are pretty standard but seemed clean and they offer a nice view. I was a little disappointed that no king size beds were available though unless you upgraded to a two room suite. The location is good and is only a few minutes from the falls and Clifton Hill, where are the tourist attractions are.

Thank you for taking time to post your comments. We appreciate your feedback. The king beds are actually not available in any of our standard guestrooms. The king beds are only in our executive suites or whirlpool guestrooms. Both of these room types would be upgrades and therefore would cost more than the standard guestrooms. Depending on the day of week and time of year the king rooms are not much more expensive than the standard rooms and definitely worth the extra money. I would suggest inquiring in the future, be sure to let us know that you are returning as loyal guests. I look forward to your future stay with us.

After our extremely bad stay last year in one of days inns we were kinda afraid to go to Niagara for stay. One friend recommended this hotel and we really enjoyed our one night stay in the hotel. It worth the money you pay and it is close to casino.
