We booked a last minute escape weekend, over Easter, and picked the DoubleTree. Room was very clean, and had a great view of the falls.

Staff was attentive and friendly.

My son LOVED the saltwater pool.

Clean bathrooms are a must, our bathroom was not cleaned well - there was hair on the floor and disgusting stuff around toilet ! Moldy soap scum near bathtub drain, awfuly cheap toilet paper, no body wash. Do not accept any rooms on 7th floor - The hall on the 7th floor from elevators onwards smells badly of cigarette smoke If you are asthmatic or not tolerant to smoking - be adamant - staff doesn't tell the truth - even though we asked for a non smoking floor and non smoking room we were placed on smoking floor Furniture in room was dated TV remote had stains on it !!!

We are sorry to hear that we didn't provide you with the rewarding experience you deserved during your recent stay at our hotel. Your satsifaction is important to us, and we appreciate your feedback about the housekeeping in your suite. Your comments have resulted in a retrain of the team that serviced your suite to prevent a reoccurence. As you noted, the 7th floor does include smoking guestrooms. The two suites on the floor are located on the extreme ends, single banked, ie. door not immediately next to another door which is smoking room type, and the L shape of the suite allows for additional buffer space. The suites HVAC are stacked up down with suite above and below. But I do see your point if you are sensitive to cigarette smoke, it is possible even the simple walking down a hall way of a guest who has smoked will leave a residual scent of smoke. We are happy to share we have new high end leather ergo desk chairs on order which will be installed by end of spring. We hope you will consider staying with us again and experiencing the stay you expect from us the next time your are in our area.

Had a fantastic stay here. Upon check-in I met the kind young gentleman named Brandon. Gave me a warm welcome and checked me in with ease. Very surprised he was still under training, he seemed like he's been there for a few years.
The rooms themselves are great. Stayed in a double queen room and there was a nice surprise of a mini fridge. There are plenty of attractions and restaurants nearby this hotel so it's great for travelers. The hotel is clean, and well ran. Tiffany the Manger on Duty at the time seems to run this hotel very well by choosing the right employees. Won't go into much detail but thanks to Brandon, he saved me $20 bucks while about to leave to go sightseeing. Don't worry, I'll keep that secret to myself till next time. Very enjoyable stay and would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants a hotel close to Niagara falls which you can view from your room windows. Also a quick shout out Tyrone who I believe was one of the maintenance or housemen on that day. Came fixed my problem in a jiffy and was also very kind.
10/10

Room Tip: The higher the room, the better but the entire hotel is fantastic.

Got room 1701 which is the corner room with views on 3 sides of the hotel (which includes views to us falls and a part of the canadian falls). Room was large and good. Too bad they didn't provide slippers. We had to get a crib from room service.

My wife noted that we got warm cookies on arrival.

We spend one night at this hotel. The view from the 16th floor was amazing. We had a good room with a king size bad and a jacuzzi. The bed wasn't very comfortable, and the room could use some fresh air. There are huge windows at the room, but it was impossible to open them.
The main problem was breakfast, which was part of our package (or maybe because I'm a Hilton HHonor gold member). The selection was poor and the dining room was understaffed. The 4 poor ladies who worked there couldn't cope with 60+ people who had their breakfast at the same time. We waited for a cup of coffee almost 15 minutes. The selection was small - no bagel and only slices of white bread, for example. No fresh orange juice and some pastries that seemed, and tasted, as leftovers from the day before.

Glad to hear you enjoyed your view and sorry to learn of your experience. The mattress and box in all the jacuzzi rooms are less than one year old, so it is unusual to hear of your description. I do appreciate that personal preference does come into play. Our beds are pillow top Serta, on the firm side - they are a DT Sleep Experience bed which has rave reviews and consistent at all our locations. Not sure if you noticed, but all the windows have a little area at the bottom which allows for fresh air to come into the room, you turn it so the slots are open. What you describe at breakfast is not typical, and am sorry for any failures on our part. We offer a much bigger selection than described including bagels, signature muffins, fruit, etc. Bye no fresh orange juice I think you are referencing squeazed on the premises. What we do include is Tropicana juices and Starbucks hot beverages. On the full side of the buffet, we get into the hot items, omelette station, waffles and more. We sure hope to have an opportunity to restore your faith in DoubleTree when next travelling to the area.

We pulled up to the hotel and immediately thought that it was beauiful. Upon check-in, we were given a warm chocolate chip cookie and our parking ticket. We got to our room and were really impressed with the cleanliness.

Our room was a "Fallsview" room - we did have a decent view of the Falls and Skylon tower. There are a few parking lots between you and the falls though.

It was about a 5 minute walk to Clifton Hill and there were many places to eat nearby. We left our car at the hotel and were able to easily walk to Clifton Hill and the Falls.

We tried out the pool - it looked really nice inside the pool area and they provided towels there for visitors. They have two small pools for regular swim use - one is designated for adults only. There's a hot tub, but it's closer to the family pool. They also have a sauna that can be used by both males and females at the same time.

They also had spa services (which we did not take advantage of on this trip).

No complimentary continental breakfast, but there was a little restaurant in the lobby of the hotel and a few nearby restaurants.

Overall, enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay there again since it had a great atmosphere, was very clean and was also quiet in the evening.

We have been coming to the DoubleTree a couple times a year for a few years now. Whenever we need a mini-vacation we head to Niagara Falls. The hotel is always clean and welcoming and the location is perfect. It's in between Clifton Hill and the Fallsview Casino, so both spots are a short walk away. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. Once we were given a room on the top floor and the majority of the walls were windows; the views were incredible. It is a wonderful hotel. However, our last stay was a few weeks ago and while I was changing, someone was able to use a key card and get into our room. I was shocked and quite upset that someone could get in our room so easily. I was also relieved because if were weren't in the room all of our belongings, including passports, could have been stolen. We went down to the lobby to see how something like this could happen and the front desk staff were a bit rude and acted like it wasn't a big deal. Now, if you were in the middle of changing and a stranger walked in to your room, you would be upset and would hope the staff would be apologetic. All they did was say that they thought the room was vacant and offered us free breakfast. A manager was not available to speak to. As much as I love this hotel, I will probably look for a new place to stay due to the unfortunate experience.

Thank you for bringing your experience to our attention and we apologize for any failures on our part. We are glad you brought it to our attention while at the hotel and we were able to do something little for you. What you describe is not typical and should not have happened - housekeeping must first knock and call out thier presence before opening a door without a do not disturb sign hanging. Not sure if it was shared with you, but with any modern key card hotel - a key card can not over ride a deadbolt lock. Every guestroom would have a deadbolt to lock your door. Only an emergency key (kept in our safe) can open a guestroom door with the dead bolt latch in place. All branded hotels including ours, would also have a second locking device, it's a latch that looks like a V (replaced the old days chain locks) and that too can not be opened without a special emergency device. Again we are sorry and hope we can restore your faith in DoubleTree.
