We chose Park Place for our 40th Anniversary in June, 2013. We stayed in the Prince of Wales Suite for 5 nights. The amenities throughout the B&B were of exceptional quality--comfortable bed, jacuzzi, sauna, private balcony, fireplace, large-screen TV (which we never turned on). Our hosts, Carolyn and Gary, gave great tips on restaurants, wineries, attractions and events in the area including our day trip to Toronto. The breakfasts included several choices--bacon and eggs, French toast, quiche, stuffed French toast, cereal, croissants, home-baked muffins, fruit cup, juice, coffee and tea. Breakfast was delivered to our suite where we enjoyed sitting out on the private balconcy. Our hosts have spent extra special attention to all the details. Thank you so much for making our stay extra special. We would recommend Park Place to anyone who wants to feel pampered.

Room Tip: Prince of Wales Suite had it all -- most important a comfortable bed, jacuzzi, sauna, fireplace, pri...

Agonized over which B&B to choose for our 30th Anniversary in Niagara Falls, Ontario. Finally chose Park Place. We arrived early evening and was greeted by our hostess Carolyn, who showed us around and explained the amenities in detail. It has been almost 30 years since we stayed in a B&B so we were a little B&B rusty. Park Place is a beautifully restored 1886 brick Victorian home. The home is located directly on Niagara Parkway and has an ample parking area off the side street. The Niagara gorge is directly across the road. Although the parkway is busy, we were not bothered by road noise. There are sidewalks on each side of the parkway and numerous restaurants, banks, shops, parks, etc are available in the old town of Niagara Falls which is a pleasant 15 min walk.

A spiral staircase with stained glass windows leads to the second floor where two of the guest suits are located. We stayed in the Prince of Wales suite which consisted of a very large, tastefully decorated room with king bed, large flat screen TV, a small but functional fireplace (logs provided), several chairs, a dinette table, a night stand on each side of the bed and remote control lights. Wine glasses and a cork screw were provided on a writing desk which was also in the room. A large closet was also provided. With all the furnishings, the room was not crowded. A private balcony was also attached to the room. The private en suite bathroom featured the usual and necessary fixtures and also included a large whirlpool tub, a small shower and a dry sauna. I believe a third suite is available in a separate building behind the main house.

Many breakfast options are available and all we tried during our stay were excellently prepared by Gary, our host. Special dietary requirements are available, but I would arrange with the hosts prior to booking .

There is a comfortable sunroom off the dining room to sit and read, play games or converse. The front porch is also very large with seating and a table provided. The yard/landscaping was immaculate. We broke our stay up into a B&B and a hotel stay. If I had to do it again, I would opt to stay at Park Place for the duration.

Our stay was for 3 nights over the Memorial Day weekend in the Queen Anne suite. The suite is luxurious with a comfortable bed, tons of pillows and lots of thoughtful details in the room. The bathroom is spacious with the Jacuzzi tub and fireplace. The mini fridge was helpful and the wine glasses were appreciated when we wanted to sample some of the wine we bought touring the wine country. We enjoyed breakfast in our suite and the choices on the menu were fabulous. Gary and Carolyn are wonderful hosts with lots of suggestions for things to do in the area and great restaurants to try. From their suggestions we were able to enjoy the War of 1812 reenactments at Fort George, and sample icewine at a winery. Park Place is also within a reasonable walking distance to Niagara Falls along River Road. It took us a hour to walk to the falls the first night but that was because we stopped quite a few times to enjoy the vistas. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Park Place and our fantastic hosts Gary and Carolyn.

We stayed in the Carriage House for 2 nights in May. We had a delightful time and Gary and Carolyn were just wonderful hosts. Gary cooked the breakfasts and they were delicious. I really appreciated all the choices for breakfast! We had something different each day and it was all wonderful.

We chose to eat in the dining room because we wanted to meet other people and chat with Gay & Carolyn. I loved that each day the table was set differently and it was all beautiful!

I agree with a previous reviewer that the Carriage House could use a little sprucing up. The walls and ceiling are all painted stucco and I scraped my knuckles more than once while showering. But the price reflects the slightly lower decor and it's more than worth it for the privacy and space. We had thought to maybe make more use of the full kitchen but we didn't in just the 2 days we were there. It really is wonderful to feel like you're in a cottage rather than just a room.

One thing to be aware of is that it is quite a hike if you are walking to the falls. At least a mile to where you can first see the American Falls and 1.5 miles to the actual Horseshoe Falls. It was more than I cared to walk. The WeGo bus is very convenient, but be SURE to check what time the service ends for the day. I think it varies by time of year. The Purple and Green Lines are the ones that go by the Park Place B & B but Purple only operates on weekends (at least when we were there) and the Green quit running at 5pm. We would have had to walk back at the end of a long day if a kindly WeGo bus driver hadn't directed us to a city bus stop and told us that our WeGo passes worked on the city buses as well!

But it would have been worth even the walk to be well away from the tawdry Clifton Hill area! The area along the river is so peaceful and beautiful, I can't imagine staying anywhere else! We'll definitely be back!

Room Tip: The Carriage house is a little more "rustic" than the main house but it makes up for it in...

My husband and I decided to take a long weekend to Canada. We booked a room online and set on our way driving from Boston. We typically prefer B&Bs to hotels. In this case we even paid less than any nearby hotel and with a much better experience. We were pleased with how close we were to the area attractions (6 min drive/15 min walk) without being too close. We were warmly greeted as we pulled up by Gary (the owner) and given a tour of the beautiful home. He got us a reservation at a local restaurant nearby and gave us directions. We went to dinner and were welcomed by the owner of the restaurant and he spoke very highly of Gary and his wife Carolyn. He then showed us to the best table in the place with views of both sets of falls! This was a special treat since my husband had never seen the falls before. We wandered around the falls and surrounding area and then headed back to the B&B. Our room was amazing with a king sized four poster bed. Our bathroom had a whirlpool tub in the middle of the bathroom with a fireplace (it also had a shower). We went down to breakfast the next morning (although you are given the option to have breakfast alone served in your room) and had what I can only describe as a 5 star meal! Gary and Carolyn visited with us while we ate and brought out all the delicious breakfast that they'd made for us. We felt like we'd be staying with lifelong friends or even family. Gary and Carolyn are such warm people who truly love what they do and it shows in every little detail. We will definitely go back again and will tell everyone we know about this lovely family and B&B.

My husband and I stayed at Park Place for two nights in March 2013. When we entered the Prince of Wales Suite, we were instantly impressed. The spacious bedroom was furnished with beautiful antique furniture, complete with a fireplace and large 4-poster bed. The lighting was perfect and the furnishings very tasteful. The large bathroom had a jacuzzi, standing shower, and a small sauna - large, and inviting. The owners, Gary and Carolyn were great. Both nights we were there they provided helpful hints about where to eat and provided us with maps to get around. On the second night, Gary called to secure us reservations at a restaurant. We were seated at a table with a spectacular view because of his call. One thing we really loved was the option to have breakfast delivered to our room at the time of our choice. We enjoyed this luxury both days since it gave us even more time to relax and lounge in the morning. The food was delicious and plentiful. If you are looking for a romantic getaway, this is the place to go.

We stayed at Park Place Bed and Breakfast for one night in February 2013. It was a frigid afternoon when we arrived but the room was warm an inviting! The jacuzzi tub was incredible, as was the shower. The tile floor was heated which was really nice. I took 3 baths during our stay there and it was wonderful. The room was smaller than it looked in the pictures but the bathroom was enormous! Breakfast was absolutely delicious. Carolyn and Gary were very welcoming and accommodating throughout our stay. I'd say the only thing we were slightly disappointed about was the fireplace was very small and was above the jacuzzi, not in the bedroom as we thought...but that really wasn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things. All in all it was a very reasonable, nice stay! We will recommend it to our friends!

Room Tip: The Prince of Wales suite was fantastic.
