Over the phone, the staff said they had "kitchenettes". No way to cook food except in the microwave. Very few utensils and dishes. I was under the impression that there would be a two burner stove...there was none. Having a toaster would have been a good thing as would a coffee pot with complimentary coffee. Rooms were clean and beds comfortable. The exterior of the building needs renovation. Non-professional painting of stairs and overhang. There was a grill in the pool area but no propane available nor access. The lobby needs to be cleaned up. Cluttered. Overall the price of $59 before taxes was very good for families. Not sure if we would stay there again. Super 8 rates was $10 more and had an indoor pool. It also was closer to attractions which would have been a plus for people who have trouble walking any distances.

We stayed the weekend after Labor Day in 2006. The first room they checked us into smelled, so we asked if we could have another. They handed us 3 sets of keys and asked us to choose. 2 of those didn't have a odor and so we stayed in one of them. We noticed they took our smelling complain seriously and seemed to really be trying to clean the first room we refused. The place was mostly empty because it was after Labor Day.

We were traveling with a 2 year old, and we really liked having a fridge and a microwave. It was the only cheap place I found in walking distance to the falls with a microwave and fridge. They gave us directions to a local super market, it wasn't far but you would never find it without directions. The price was great. Because they let us choose the room, we were happy.

We stayed at the hotel with another family. Both of our rooms looked like the room you would see in Vacancy. The bedding looked like it had never been washed and the matress had stains. There were cracks in the tile floor and on the wall. When we first saw our room we were so grossed out. We checked for cockroaches (luckily found none). The TV was really old and the room was faintly yellow (probably hadn't been painted in a long time). The other couple whom we were traveling with had 3 children so they had to ask for a cot. The cot was delivered by a guy who was in his boxers and black socks. The service was very unprofessional (even though we didn't ask for a lot). The rooms didn't have a porch so we moved any chairs we could find outside to enjoy the fresh air. We asked if we could see the wedding chapel but never got to see it. A few men came to the wedding chapel at night and left a few hours later. We suspect there may be drug activity but I will never know for sure. The first night we were there we were one of the few people staying there. The next night there was no vacancy and they were all sold out. We were all puzzled how they could be sold out but for the price (compared to the nearby hotels) it shouldn't cross your mind. Personally camping is cleaner than this motel. The only good thing was it's location. We could walk all over niagara falls. You only need a car for restaurants and diners you would want to visit.

Me and my family went there last summer. We stayed for 3 days and they only charged us $250, the rate is very reasonable once you see the room. Room with 2 beds, very clean and newly renovated. The service was awsome and we got free ice wine. We had a wonderful time and will be back soon. Can say no more it's just amazing.

I made a reservation with this seedy motel back in November for a night on New Years Eve. My rate was something like $181 after tax (walk-ins on New Years were being charged $250 BEFORE tax!). The problems started immediatly.

The lobby stunk like moth balls and when I checked into my room I was sent to a room that had a Neon "OPEN" sign in the window right next to the bed. The room smelt like urine and pine sol. The matress looked like it had fallen off of a truck and had been run over on the highway. The walls were cinderblock with various concrete patch jobs over the years. The floor was some retro 70's tile. The air conditioner was sealed up inside of the room with a GARBAGE BAG. There was also a bonus gift of a potatoe bug climbing around the ceiling. No glasses, no bucket for ice, no extra hand towels, NO FRILLS! Did I mention they wanted $180 for the room?

So with my wife in tears we went to our friends hotel room which was in the same motel. It was like night and day. There room looked renovated with new laminate floors and the matress was a respectable shape and condition (unlike ours). So we figured "ok we'll just switch rooms and find a nice one". The hotel staff told me that they would charge me $30 more for another room and when we asked to look at it we were greeted with a waterbed from 1982 in a suken frame, some yellow and brown carpet and a cheap painting of a topless woman on the wall. My original thoughts were "Hey, what pornos were shot here?"

At the end of it all they refunded my reservation but kept $20 of my money for nothing and then they rented the room out to a next couple for $250 while we were still there.

So two things can be learned here:
-Never stay at the Ritz Inn (Unless you're shooting a porno)
-Always check the room out before you sign the credit card slip

We were able to win a little money in the casino after and got back to Toronto in time to catch the New Years countdown and to sleep at the best hotel in town, our house.

Sorry... with your decision...
As soon as you decide to cancel your reservation we know you will ruin your new year party as you may not be able to get such room and service (in our area) at the rate you first agreed to pay us.
(You may feel that you can get other hotel at better service with the same money you agreed)....at least we honoured to approve your request to cancel reservation.
