Often visit the Glen several times a year. It is incredibly beautiful and if you are up for the challenge well worth the effort!

This is a wonderful place to explore the Niagara Gorge. Steps in a natural setting take you to the waters edge and natures beauty will surround you. The walk back up is a bit harder than going down but is very good exercise for everyone!!!!

It's a great place with free parking, open space, quiet areas and minimal crowds; a hicker's paradise. Bathrooms are also clean and available.

By boyfriend and I hiked this trail on December 14, 2013. It was snowing at the time of the hike and was already covered in about 5 inches of snow. Crampons were not needed for this hike as the climbs were not steep and there was not too much ice, mainly powder. As with any trail, I would recommend a pair of waterproof hiking boots if going during the winter time. The hike itself is good for a beginner and takes roughly 2 hours to complete round trip. If you like to boulder, there are several good spots as well. There are about 6 different trails to choose from and several of them intertwine. Here is a map: http://www.niagaraparksnature.com/files/Niagara-Glen-Map.pdf

I would absolutely recommend anyone visiting the area to hike Niagara Glen, especially in the winter :)

When you think of the Niagara falls, you think a beautiful force of nature. When you get there, you're more surprised at the multitude of concrete that surrounds them.
Little is said about the Niagara Glen however and I stumbled upon the park by luck. It was perhaps the most natural and authentic experience of my time at the falls and definitely well worth exploring. You may not see the falls, but you have an awesome bush walk and a great view of the river running into them. :)
