“Fun for the Whole Family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 April 2014

Our family vacation was suppose to be Canada's Wonderland, but with 80% chance of thundershowers, we changed our plans and booked at Great Wolf. Our family included myself and my husband, our two boys (ages 2&3) and my mother and father, my father being 65 years old. My dad was a little bit hesitant about going to a waterpark for two days, but when we got there, he was the biggest kid out of all of us

We had seen the commercials on television, as well as reviews from family members, but nothing prepared us for the fun we had while we were there.

It was very convenient to have a hotel in the place where we would spend the day. When the boys got cranky, up to the room we went for nap time and didn't even have to pack the children back up in the car. When we were hungry, it was easy to order something from a restaurant right on site, rather then again, packing up 6 people to go out and eat. My 3 year old loved the water slides (even went down the family one), and although my 2 year old is a dare-devil he was just to say to small for the water slides, but enjoyed getting soaked with water everywhere else.

The only downside about the hotel is the price. It is rather pricey, but I'm okay with having to pay a little bit more to have things within walking distance. We plan to bring our boys there at least every 2 years.

Just got back and can't say enough good things. Some tips...get the 4th floor to eliminate hearing little feet all night long. We ate at the buffet for breakfast and dinner, it was easier and pretty good overall. Lunch was pizza from the Northwoods. Service is slow at times and the front desk check in process could be improved but overall they do a really nice job.

Room Tip: get the end of the hallway away from the lobby

We decided to head to Great Wolf Lodge for our second time this past January. We do go mid week when the lines are shorter for the slides and the pools less crowded.

We had an amazing time except on our second night, the heater in the room broke. At first we hardly noticed as we were so very tired from such a busy day, but by 8am the next morning the room was frozen (-25C outside). One phone call and about 2 minutes later a mechanic was at the door. He was so very polite, friendly and very helpful. When he determined that he'd have to install a whole new system, we were moved, and upgraded to a new room.

The customer service is tremendous. We also received a letter in the mail the next week making sure our stay turned out to be a great one.

Everything else was terrific as well, the food, the kids entertainment, etc. We did more this time by going to Scoops Spa, the new (to us) bowling alley and Cub Club. We packed our days, and didn't go outside for four days! Talk about all inclusive.

Great Wolf Lodge Niagara is definitely on the top of our list for family getaways.

Room Tip: Rooms on the bottom level are so much better than we thought - close to the pool/water park and arca...

Great Wolf Lodge is a destination by itself.
The Good: Whole family had a great time at the water park. Kids had a good time with the Wolf Walk (morning show) and Bed Time story. They were disappointed that they could not take part in the face paint.
The Bad: It's tough to get out and see anything else. Access to the Niagara Parks WeGo bus takes a little effort. GWL has priced the hotel right at my price point. Any more and it would be a bit too expensive.

There are lot so free things to do that come part of the price of the hotel. Watch the daily schedule.

My 8 year old son had his heart set on visiting Great Wolf Lodge so my husband, son and I set out from MA on school vacation. I was a bit wary, having read about the lines, but our timing was great. We arrived on Monday at 4; the lobby was full of people but we walked right up to the check in desk. Our room was ready and we were on the same floor as check in, so no elevators! The room was larger than I expected with plenty of space for us. We looked around the hotel, peeking at the waterpark and playing at the arcade before we went out for dinner. My son LOVED the waterpark and would have been happy if we never left the hotel. He played Magiquest, which involves a lot of running up and downstairs; he also enjoyed the story time (the girl who read the story did a great job). We ate at the place in the waterpark (chicken Cesar salads, chicken nuggets), the pizza place (chicken parm subs) and the buffet for one breakfast and one dinner. I thought the food was reasonably good and not overly expensive compared to the cost of food in Niagara Falls! Overall we had a great trip and will visit other GWL locations.

Room Tip: Getting a room on the main floor means no elevator, a big plus!

We travelled with our daughter and three young grandchildren 4,4 and 2 1/2 ......the room was fine for one night, bunk beds, a queen bed and queen pullout, clean and surprisingly quiet considering everything going on. There was a decent size fridge because the meal plan is expensive $47 for adults and $22 for children......
Check in time is 4pm kind of late and you have to be out of your room by 11am which meant organizing ourselves with a bag of immediate needs and put the rest in the van. There are storage lockers $40 or later check out $45 for two hours.....but we managed. The children had a great time which was important.....but I think I could only handle the short stay with young children.
Staff were super friendly and I have no complaints. Once you visit you get to know what to do....and I think there may even be a next time when the children are a little older.

Does not cater towards people with allergies or different food preferences such as vegetarian or vegan. All desserts say it may contain peanuts or tree nuts which made it very hard for my daughter to see all the kids eating dessert and she couldn't have any. I am vegan and there was literally nothing I could eat. I think they can add some healthy options instead of greasy fast food. Other than the food the hotel is awesome!
