“Wyndham Fallsview - not a 'Falls view" but still pretty good”
Reviewed 19 August 2012

Our # 1 issue for hotels is the beds, and happily these brand new furnishings in this newly purchased re-done property met that standard. The beds are new and still quite firm. The floors are kept spotless. The housekeeping staff was meticulous. I hated the toilet paper holders which came loose after one use and kept having to readjust them. A little irritating. Staff seemed a little stingy with soap but towels were generously supplied in a good amount.

The room was nice, but would have been better with a fridge. We could have gotten one for an up charge of $20/night. Parking cost $12/night. We moved our car to the lot behind/side of the back lot and it was $5/night. Seemed a little shady, but area around hotel is very safe, and we had no problems. Erroneous charges for parking at $12/night showed up on bill, but we got them to fix it.

Coffeemaker made one cup at a time. Supplies were not always replenished day to day.

The Air conditioner was a little weird and did not seem to stay on at even temp.

Free wi-fi, and also 2 computers to use in lobby. Can also buy Niagara Adventure Pass in Lobby.
Can change small amount of American money to Canadian currency. Will mail your postcards, also sell stamps.

Front desk staff, especially Lindsey and Marshall were very nice and very helpful. Great customer service attitudes.

We chose this property due to a corporate discount and while we were not totally happy with our stay, the hotel was decent. That parking fee is outrageous and all of the major hotels in the area seem to charge it. Remember to ask if your hotel actually has a FALLS view when booking. Having it in your name is misleading if you are just going to see a bunch of mist. "walk to Falls" was a bit of a stretch but we did it because parking near the falls very overpriced.

Pros: Beds, Front Desk Staff, Towels, free wifi
Cons: Parking fee $ 12/night; Fridge fee $20/night; no hotel shuttle; no "Falls"view as expected in name

Room Tip: Ask for a room on a higher floor for best view

Beautiful hotel, all brand new.
12 dollars for parking.
Slow service at check in- and the Guen girl was quite rude.
Marshall was awesome. Slept great.
Close to falls and other amenities.
Stayed with girls for a girls weekend and went to Jacks lounge.
Spicy Olive great place to eat.
Greg Frewin Theater magic show worth the money, promise.

Hotel opened in May 2012 as per the receptionist. Really liked the colour scheme of blue and brown. Reception helpful and friendly. Small bar area near the reception. and there is a very small arcade on the ground floor also for the kids. Small pool area with a hot tub but only 3 chairs around the pool! Towels for the pool on a rack at the far side of the pool. The pool was very over clorinated so much so that everyones eyes were stinging so we left after about 20 mins. Depth of pool less than 2 meters so safe enough for youngsters that can swim. No lifeguard . Small gym near the pool.

2 Elevators on the smallish side . Rooms have a large entry area . As the hotel is new, everything is in good condition. Beds are comfortable . Windows have a roller blind with window sheers that in our room didnt actually meet in middle ..we overlooked the car park at the back so it would have been nice to have the privacy of not having to lower the roller blind in order to get dressed!

Biggest grip was the $12 dollars for parking [there is a lot over the road for $5 but we didnt want to drag our 'stuff' over the busy main road. They also took a $50 per room damage deposit which of course is credited back at the end of your stay. Our $119 room special rate turned out to be about $148 after taxes etc.

Perkins restuarant for breakfast was o.k. although we did notice a line up of customers waiting for tables at around 9.20 am as we were leaving after we had our breakfast. You can access the restaurant from the lobby area. Location is convenient and although you cant see the falls its a nice clean hotel to stay at.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back of the hotel to see the Skylon tower and Imax. The front looks onto the bu...

We stayed here as part of a Deal. We were pleasantly surprised by its location very close to falls, fallsview casino, and restaurants like Bravo at the corner of Stanley and ferry. Short drive to wineries and niagara on the lake. Wonderful hotel staff and toiletries in the bathroom. You cannot see the falls from your room but you can see the mist and the parking ($12) should be less since it costs $5 everywhere else. Overall great stay.

After choosing this hotel via tripadvisor, I was quite happy with the hotel. Newly renovated, the check in was good. After getting to our room and checking it out, they happily changed our room to a room with a non-handicapped shower (as it was too low in height for us). The new room was an upgraded room (no extra charge). Location was close enough to the falls and other tourist traps. Room was very comfortable and clean!

I want to write excellent, wonderful, and great things ...

- good location: easy to find and drive to, easy to park. It's a smaller hotel and that actually makes it more "user friendly"

- Wow! I booked on Priceline and was a little nervous about what we may get, but walking into the room, my reaction was "Wow!" Very nice, new, and stylish. No funny "hotel room smell", good size and looked very clean.

- About being clean: all looked really clean except the bathroom floor which was dark and initially hard to notice the many, many, long black hair.

- The room was so nice that I hate to complain, but the room layout makes it difficult for a family to get ready in the morning - even a couple. The sink, tub/shower, and toilet are all together in the same small room. There is a counter outside the bathroom with coffee maker and ice bucket, but no sink or mirror. Even a mirror here would help ease the traffic and demand for the 25 sq. feet of bath space that everyone must use to get ready. No privacy here!

- As another reviewer wrote, the beds are so very nice. Luxurious mattresses with quality comfortors and pillows - many, many lofty pillows!

Really nice. Too bad the floor plan wasn't thought through better.

The hotel suite was spacious for our family of 5. We stayed at the Wyndham the August long weekend and it's location was second to none. A few minutes walk from the Falls and Clifton Hill. Just down the street was Al Mac's Buffet where we went for breakfast and it was only $6.99. Tickets to the indoor waterpark are available at the front desk for $31.00 instead of the usual $45.00. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We certainly will be back.
