“Exellent B&B”
Reviewed 14 July 2014

This was the nicest B&B I have ever stayed at. Free parking, close to main street, beautiful linens and towels, comfy bed and very spacious room and ensuite, exceptional breakfast and very friendly owners.

My lovely wife of twenty years picked this bed and breakfast. By far it was the most wonderful bnb we've ever stayed at. The rooms were perfect. Not to mention, having the balcony was very nice for early morning coffee or an evening snack. The breakfast was amazing with a taste of old Italy. Carlotta, Kash, and Sarah (Grandmama) were the most delightful hosts. The location was just right with proximity within walking distance of all the shops plus the theatres, and numerous restaurants. We were so pleased with our stay and will be staying here again!

Room Tip: Any room is perfect

This is the second year I've stayed at La Toscana. Last year I chose it because I love Florence and all things Italian. I was NOT disappointed. I've stayed in two different rooms and both were excellent. There was lots of room for hanging clothes, lots of drawers, a good hair dryer and lots of room in the bathroom for moving around and for storage. The breakfasts are definitely not Italian. They give you several small courses at the beginning and the end with a large entree. The poached eggs with smoked salmon - no heavy beschamel/besciamella - was absolutely delicious. And who ever thought of dessert for breakfast? One day it was gelato; the next an apple tart, Italian-style, light and tasty. I would highly recommend this wonderful taste of Italy in NOTL. Thanks to Carlotta, Kash and Signora Shara for an outstanding two and half days.

Room Tip: Have stayed in both The Medici and The Brunelleschi. The Medici is slightly smaller but still big en...

We decided to spend 2 days at La Toscana this year and celebrate Canada Day at N-O-T-L, and we were not disappointed. Stayed in our favourite room, the Brunellischi, with its big bathroom and comfy balcony that has a great view of King Street. As in our stays for the last 5 years, Carlotta was forever the friendly and gracious hostess, as was Kash, her significant half and her mother , Sharma, who comes from Florence, Italy every Shaw season to help out. The room and the whole house were in immaculate condition. We were blessed with good weather both days to have breakfast in the lovely patio facing King Street. It was so good to enjoy a scrumptious 4 course breakfast after a great sleep. La Toscana and its hostess and host certainly make our stay so relaxed and memorable every time we visit. Naturally, our stay would not have been perfect without a visit to Carlotta's Il Gelato di Carlotta for the organic hazelnut gelato, the best in Canada.

We’ve been going to Niagara-on-the Lake for the Shaw Festival nearly every summer for the past fourteen years and have stayed in a number of bed and breakfasts.
La Toscana di Carlotta, where we stayed last year and returned to this year, is among the best of them. Carlotta, her husband Cash and Carlotta’s mother, Shara are warm and welcoming, as is their dog Maya, a large polite and friendly Goldendoodle. The rooms are lovely, very comfortable and the breakfasts delicious, always finishing with a desert, and they carry us through the whole day until dinnertime.
When we plan our future trips to Niagara-on-the Lake we will look forward to staying again at La Toscana di Carlotta.

This was probably our 8th visit over the past 5 or 6 years mostly in the summer but also a couple of times just before Xmas.
We love the hospitality of this small quaint 4 room B&B. We are made to feel at home and are treated like long lost relatives.
It is only a block from the main shopping street of Niagara on the Lake, and a short walk to the 3 theatres and the lake. This time we enjoyed renting bicycles and riding along side the Niagara River.

Room Tip: 2 of the 4 rooms have a balcony overlooking the gardens.

Another wonderful stay with Carolotta. She brings such warmth and creative energy to all she does. We were treated to another fabulous 5 course breakfast that lasted two hours - ending with their signature Gelato from their new shop on Queen Street - straight from Italy!!. The ambiance at Toscana engages you - we made friends with the two couple we met over breakfast - it is all in all a wonderful experience to be there.

Room Tip: All fabulous!!
