I enjoy staying at B&B's. The move over from "The Shakespeare Festival" in Stratford on Avon, Canada (1 1/2 hours drive) to the "Shaw Festival" in Niagara on the Lake to feast on the best of literary talent. The panapoly of flowers can be seen from all directions equally in town. While visiting the many vineyards, the gourmet meals and the drinking of white wine which also pleases the oenophiles was simply excellent. The highlight is our fortune to have stayed at Abigales Victorian Bed and Breakfast. Linda, Anita, and Walter makes for a home sweet home vacation.

Owner, Linda, was most accommodating in making sure that all 7 of us would have large comfortable rooms with private baths. Beautifully furnished, very clean & huge variety of food prepared by Linda, a fantastic cook. The freshly picked Niagara peaches & blueberry pancakes are memorable. Dynamic personality, Linda aims to please in the 3 homes she runs as guest houses.

We love staying at B&B's to avoid the sterility of hotels and meet and chat with people from all over the world. We are a family with two older adults and 2 teenage girls. We chose this B&B because of other reviews on Tripadvisor and after to speaking to Linda (the host) on the phone. I believe she runs the Butler B&B and her son Walter is responsible for Abagales. We only had brief contacts with her son, but he was pleasant and helpful. Linda is bubbly and effusive and always helpful with advice and suggestions. Bikes are supplied for a one-time $10 maintenance fee, and we spent 2 whole days riding around town and the trails. The rooms are nice and roomy. My wife and me sharing a large queen-sized bed (very comfortable) with a bath. Our girls were in adjoining room with two double beds and a separate bath. The free WiFi made their nights! Anita prepares the breakfasts and maintains the rooms. She is wonderful--very personable and friendly. And her breakfasts are delicious and ample. (By eating the large breakfasts, we could avoid the expensive lunches in town!) The hospitality shown us was amazing, and we would rank this as one of the top B&B's we have stayed at.

Room Tip: See note above for adjoining rooms if needed.

Our intergenerational family booked the entire house (4 rooms) for the Memorial Day weekend to attend a wedding. The accommodation, breakfast and overall hospitality extended to us by the owners was superb. We look forward to going back this summer. Excellent.

Room Tip: The 2 bedrooms attached upstairs with a divider are perfect for families with older children for privacy.

Every year I look forward to the time I spend at either of these two B&Bs and each year I want to add another day or week to my stay. The camaraderie at Linda's breakfast table is something to look forward to each year. I have met so many wonderful people from just about everywhere, and the conversation makes you want to linger forever at her table. She and her son who runs Abigales have become dear friends. Linda loves her theatre and is quick to join in the conversation of each and every play and musical. Looking for something exciting to do besides the glorious plays? Just ask Linda.....she'll even escort you there or make a reservation for you. I am thinking of making this a twice a year affair! And did I mention the yummy breakfasts? Fantastic!!!! Phyllis Johnson from Michigan.

Room Tip: They are all good!
