“Wonderful and Wheelchair-friendly option in Niagara-on-the-Lake”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

Carbonnel was quite a surprise. Finding accessible rooms in more historic areas can be tricky and we weren't quite sure what to expect, and I am so happy to have found Carbonnel. The hostess, Janet was warm and welcoming from the first moment. She really took the time to make my husband and I feel welcome. The Alexander suite we stayed in was very comfortable and well decorated. Accessibility in the B&B was very good. The bathroom was well set up and there were nice even threshholds and a ramp directly to our room.

From the time we arrived, it was like visiting family! Janet, Guy, Luke and Chardonay made our stay an unforgettable experience. After showing us around the house and property, Janet took time to explain the layout of town and surrounding area to us and also gave us complimentary tickets to many local wineries. The house was immaculate, the beds extremely comfortable and the food unbelievable. The breakfasts were indeed a gourmet treat and Janet took the time to explain each course and the ingredients to us. We are looking forward to returning in the near future. You do, however need a car to ensure ease of travel in the area and there are many wineries, bike paths and cultural events available.

We were having great time staying in the Magnolia room for few nights. The hostess Janet was very helpful and a great cook. We enjoyed the 4 course breakfast everyday. The house is located in the quieter part of town which we liked and the price is half what is in town. It is only few minutes drive to the "old town" and 20 mins to Niagara fall.

So glad you enjoyed your stay with us. The weather has been great and the town has been very busy. The peanut shop is getting lots of business and I'm sure they appreciate your support.
Safe travels. Janet

We didn' know that B&B changed the owner because Janet, the hostess, have all the information about the local area, dinning, tasting wine, shoping. Her house is something
special, breakfast is the best. Be sure to stop by visiting Niagara Lake.

On our way back to Virginia, after a week in Toronto, we decided to visit Niagara-on-the Lake.
Looking on-line before we left Toronto, we found Carbonnel Bed and Breakfast and made a
reservation for that night. Our stay there couldn't have been better. The two rooms that
we had reserved were both pleasant and comfortable and breakfast in the sunny
breakfast room was wonderful. Hostess Janet couldn't have been better....she was able
to suggest a number of things for us to do in the area and places to eat. Niagara-on-the Lake
is a beautiful town and area and our stay at Carbonnel B & B made out short visit there
all the better. I would highly recommend Carbonnel to anyone

On arrival we found out that the B&B had recently changed hands. This may even have enhanced our experience as Janet was a great host, immediately made us feel at home and already, after one month, had an excellent knowledge of the local area and advised us expertly on places to eat and places to explore. Carbonnel B&B has excellently appointed spotlessly clean and decorated rooms with excellent en-suites.

Sadly we were not able to enjoy the hot tub as the weather was poor, but we did enjoy Janet's beautiful and substantial breakfasts, a great chat around the breakfast table, a very quiet and peaceful night's sleep and the welcome of little dog Chardonnay!

Carbonnel B&B is about 20 minutes drive from Niagara Falls and around 10 minutes from Niagara on the Lake. A great place for exploring this area. Thank you Janet for our stay!

Room Tip: Take your pick. All are fine.

So glad to hear that everything was to your liking. The hot tub is ready and waiting for another visit. Thank you for noting that our location is so conveniently close to both Niagara Falls and Niagara on the Lake but yet in a setting great for relaxing.
