“Clean and comfortable B&B; ideally located for touring local wineries”
Reviewed 30 July 2012

We stayed at the Brass Bell for one night during a visit to Niagara-on-the-lake with another couple. Our room was very clean and our bed was comfortable. Bob and Julie, the B&B owners, were friendly and hospitable. The Brass Bell is ideally located for biking to the many wineries in the area.

We were pleasantly surprised by the excellent breakfast of fresh fruit and French toast.

There's no need to stay in an over-priced hotel in Niagara-on-the-lake. B&Bs like the Brass Bell are excellent value.

We celebrated our anniversary this past month at the Brass Bell. We have been to the Brass Bell on 3 separate occasions now and each time have had a fabulous experience. Bob and Julie are wonderful hosts - friendly, warm and very welcoming. They are helpful with providing information about things to do and places to eat and have an assortment of different discount coupons and wine tasting vouchers.

The accommodations are very comfortable and clean. This time we stayed in the Captain's Quarters, which, like the other rooms, is nicely decorated with a comfy bed, quilts and pillows. The bathrooms are well stocked with soaps and toiletries for your use. The home has free wireless internet and a couple of sitting areas that can be utilized.

Bob & Julie provided a wonderful breakfast with heart-shaped waffles (for our anniversary) and maple and blueberry syrup. Breakfast has always proven to be amazing -- with fresh baked pastries, fresh fruit and this time the very delicious waffles. You can tell that they take pride in providing a fresh, home-cooked meal for their guests.

Bob and Julie are wonderful hosts and their home is an excellent place to stay. I highly recommend this B&B to anyone.

Our weekend stay in The Captain's Quarters at The Brass Bell in NOTL was pleasant and relaxing. The suite was comfortable, clean and bright, the breakfast healthy and delicious. The house is a short drive or walk into town, with easy parking out front. Our hosts, Bob & Julie, were warm, welcoming and helpful. Nearby, old NOTL Golf Club proved a good choice for a scenic nine holes and lunch.

Room Tip: The main floor Captain's Quarters faces the backyard and is quiet and spacious, with a lovely en...

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this B&B. We wished we could have extended our stay. Our hosts Bob & Julie were friendly, inviting and very helpful about places to see and things to do in Niagara-on-the Lake. We stayed in Sarah's room located on the second floor; the room which was on the small side but was very clean, decorated with cozy quilts and a comfortable bed. The bathroom had a shower(no tub) but was well appointed with high end soaps and toiletries and hair dryer. I took advantage of the early quiet morning to read a book in the upstairs sitting area. A small refrigerator was stocked with soft drinks and water as well as a basket of snacks. Free wireless internet was available (I did not use) magazines and newspapers were available to read. Our breakfast was served in the home's comfortable dining room. We were served sweet baked goods, a fresh fruit cup and belgian waffles made from a delicious and healthy "secret" recipe served with warm maple of blueberry syrup. The property is on the small side but has a lovely flower garden and a front verandah with comfortable couch and chairs. We rented bikes from a local rental shop and had a wonderful day cycling and stopping off at the wineries and riding back through the town. This town has truly kept its charm and we are hoping to return in the fall to experience the Niagara Grape & Wine festival in the fall and will certainly consider returning to the Brass Bell.

We enjoyed very much to be the guests of Bob and Julie. Breakfast was superb. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. If we happen to be in the area again, we would choose the Brass Bell B&B again.

We stayed at this B&B for 2 nights and very much enjoyed all it had to offer. The Captain's Room was clean, on the 1st floor and had a king bed -- sometimes not available at a reasonably-priced B&B. Our breakfasts were delicious and not something we would normally make for ourselves. The fruit cup that started our meal was excellent, followed by an additional 2 or 3 courses. Bob and Julie were always ready to offer helpful suggestions to make our getaway fun. We saw 2 plays during our visit and visited several wineries. We plan to return and explore some of the history of the area.
