“40th Wedding Aniversary”
Reviewed 30 June 2014

My wife and I visited the Lyons House on June 18-20 of 2014, It was our first visit there. The house was very beautiful inside and out, we just loved the feel. Howard and his wife were both amazing hosts and awesome cooks, they would help us plan each day so that we could maximize our visit. We had such a great time there visiting the wineries, riding bikes and just relaxing. The bed and breakfast is just 3 blocks from town, was easy walking and we felt very safe coming back at night. We hope that we can start to make this a yearly tradition, I would highly recommend this to our friends and family.

Stayed for 6 nights at this beautiful Guest House and couldn't have asked for more during our stay. The house itself is perfectly located, beautiful decorated, extremely comfortable and above all cozy. Our bedroom was nicely furnished, with a comfortable large bed, lounge chairs, great tv set and a really well appointed bathroom with a spacious shower. Fresh towels and chocolates were provided daily and the room refreshed daily (and also a nightly turndown service). A ground floor lounge and breakfast area are provided for the use of guests, who could also use the large, spacious garden area which had both dining tables/chairs and cushioned furniture. Great for that early evening bottle of wine.
The house itself is positioned in a quiet area, adjacent to a large park but only a 5 minute stroll to the main street. Jolanta and Howie could not have been better hosts, providing delicious AND generous breakfasts each morning with a plentiful supply of great coffee. Additionally a complimentary Pod type coffee machine and fridge with bottled water are provided for guests to use on the bedroom floor.
Each morning Howie would suggest a wine tour itinerary (if that's what you wanted to do) and provided vouchers for us to visit the wineries and enjoy complimentary drinks and wine tours. Howie would also suggest restaurants for evening meals and provide discount vouchers when available. NotL has a great range of restaurants to suit all tastes and just as importantly budgets. We had intended to hire cycles and undertake a couple of tours with local companies, but Howie provided us with two of his own bikes and a suggested tour route ........ much better than driving and NotL is well served by great off road bike routes and even when on road, the 'lines' and 'cross routes' are by no means busy.
Overall we had a fantastic break in NotL, enhanced by a fabulous stay at Historic Lyons and if ever time and budget permits we wouldn't hesitate to return. Highly recommended on all levels.

Room Tip: Two rooms are en-suite, one room has the bathroom 4 steps across the landing .... but it is a fabulo...

The pictures online do this charming Bed and Breakfast no justice it's hard to capture the beauty and charm that this place is oozing with in a photo. It is an absolutely gorgeous house that is very tastefully decorated, cozy and comfortable.
We hadn't stayed at a B&B before and were worried about privacy and having to tiptoe around - it wasn't like that at all. The rooms have a very private feel and they all have ensuite bathrooms. The bed, pillows and sheets are super comfortable and the garden is gorgeous.
Breakfast is a gourmet treat! Plentiful, delicious and presented exquisitely.
The hosts Howard and Jolanta are warm, welcoming and extremely informative. Howard made dinner reservations for us and provided a map, directions and all sorts of useful coupons before we left the house for a day or evening out.
The House is conveniently located steps from Queen Street and if you're cycling, there's a trail that connects to the Niagara River Trail at the park directly across the street. My husband and I will definitely be visiting again. Look no further and book this place if you can! You will not be disappointed.

My wife and I visited the Lyons House on May 6-8 of 2014. It was our third or fourth visit there. We now try and go every year. The house was charming, the rooms were excellent and the service was fantastic. We always love the breakfast, when we go there. Howard is a great cook and was a great host. He provided a great area overview and gave us directions to the nearby attractions and wineries. He even took me for a drive to show where the local tennis courts were located.

We had a great little wine and cheese party in the spacious, elegant back yard. Lots of beautiful plants.

We brought some friends with us on this trip and they were equally impressed.

This bed and breakfast is 5 minutes walking distance from the main area of Niagara on the Lake. Close enough to walk to the restaurants, shopping or theatre, but far enough to get away from those activities when you want to wind down.

My husband and I have just returned from a most delightful getaway to Niagara-on-the-Lake, much enhanced by our stay at Historic Lyons House. It is a gracious home, beautifully decorated, clean and comfortable. Our room was sunny and bright with a large window overlooking the yard and the trees beyond. Best of all were Howie and Jolanta - friendly, informative and accommodating, and great cooks! We were there for two nights and breakfast each morning was delicious. We are definitely looking forward to returning. These folks go the extra mile.

This was our second trip to Niagara on the Lake, and second time staying at the Lyons House. We absolutely love it! Their home is kept in tip top shape and decorated beautifully. We love the “homey” feel of it, and always feel so welcome. Howie is so great at recommending things to do and new wineries to try. The breakfasts are always superb and mouthwatering, we can’t get enough! We have recommended it to others, and will definitely come back to the Lyons House again.

Headed to NOTL over Easter weekend and stayed at the Historic Lyons House, Friday night. Jolanta and Howard were beyond accommodating, particularly in light of the fact that this was Easter and they themselves had plans. My partner and I return to the Lyons House because we know our expectations will be exceeded. Lovely appointed rooms, personable and accommodating owners and sensational breakfast! Thanks Howard and Jolanta. See you, again, Lyons House.
