“Wonderful!”
Reviewed 15 November 2011

We were with Pam and Stacey (review below, November 11-13) and could not agree more. This is an annual event for 6 of us (3 couples, long time friends) and Maddie could not have been a more accommodating hostess. Our room, Nutmeg, was huge and the bathroom was a real treat. Maddie provided coffee, tea, juice, pop and water along with snacks and candy in every room. There are even comfy robes and slippers in the wardrobes. Breakfast was great, sweet one day, savory the next. We liked the Strata so much that we got the recipe to serve to company.

Thanks Maddie.

You were a wonderful group! Hope the Strata worked out for your company last weekend, wondering if you went for the Ham, cheese & onion, or the vegetarian option....either way, hope you enjoyed it. Looking forward to seeing you all next year, or any of you at anytime throughout the year. If you need any more recipies, you know where to find me at Copper Lane!

I am delinquent in submitting my review of this wonderful B&B. Went for a girls' getaway the first weekend in October. I had the Vanilla Bean room on the first floor and my friend had the Cocoa Bean room on the second floor. Both were delightful, cozy and beautifully furnished. The location is perfect, just steps away from the Courthouse Theater, with several restaurants within a block. And the rates are very reasonable considering the prime location and outstanding quality. Both the rooms and the lounge are stocked with extra amenities like chocolates, snacks, water, soft drinks, coffee, tea and juice. But best of all was our hostess, Maddie. Hubbie John was a sweetie too. Maddie made us feel like old friends within minutes. She gave us great dining recommendations, even made the reservations for us. Nothing was too much trouble. And the breakfasts............. delicious. Each morning we were served a three course meal, starting with a fruit dish of some sort, then a savory, and finally sweet nibbles like pumpkin cookies. Maddie will also accommodate any special food needs you have, whether vegan, gluten-free, low fat, you name it. And it's all tasty as can be. I already have a return trip reserved for 2012.

Room Tip: All rooms are about the same size, but the Nutmeg room has a bigger bath with large tub and separate...

I greatly appreciate reviews done at anytime, we've had some a year after the visit! Glad you both had a great time here at Copper Lane. We did choose this location partly due to its fantastic location so I'm glad you liked that aspect and all the little extras we provide. Hopefully by the time you visit I'll have many more lovely recipies to choose from. Have a great holiday season and looking forward to your visit in the Spring.

We visited Niagara on the Lake, Ontario Canada this past weekend and stayed at this most wonderful B&B. Our host , Maddie, is definitely in the right business. Not only was she gracious, informative, personable, helpful and genuinely sweet, she is an awesome cook. Our breakfast both mornings were creative and delicious. We will visit the region again, and when we do , we plan to stay with Maddie at Copper Lane.

If you plan to visit Niagara-on-the-Lake, in our opinion (my wife and I) Copper Lane B&B on Johnson Street is the place to stay.

Their tagline, “…where elegance and history meet…”, epitomizes the experience of staying there. The house -- originally built in 1871 -- has been beautifully restored combining tasteful period décor with modern amenities, including air conditioning. I personally adored the large and inviting front veranda, where I sat in a comfortable armchair for a relaxing afternoon sipping iced tea and enjoying the front garden and tranquil streetscape. Our spacious, quiet bedroom upstairs featured an ensuite with Jacuzzi bath and marble walled shower stall, a very comfortable queen sized bed, plus our own LCD flat screen TV. And just outside the room in the hallway was a built-in, complimentary snack bar including coffee maker. In the morning, our charming hostess Maddie Whitfield prepared and served a delicious, healthy, and satisfying fruit and fritta breakfast, which provided the perfect start to a day of discovering nearby wineries and enjoying the Shaw Festival in the evening.

We absolutely loved it, and we can’t wait until our next Niagara-on-the-Lake visit and stay at Copper Lane B&B!

My sister and I stayed at this charming bed and breakfast for a three day, two night "girlcation" in Niagara-on-the-Lake. We simply wanted to relax, enjoy the wineries and pamper ourselves a bit. Copper Lane was the perfect choice. It is located within wallking distance to the shops, theaters and restaurants. Built in the 1860's, this B&B has the charm of yesteryear with all the modern amenities. The Vanilla Bean room was gorgeous with an absolutely lovely en suite bath. There is attention to detail in every corner of this room, from the bath, to the furnishings, bedding and all the little extra treats in the room. Maddie is a gracious, down-to-earth host, who made us feel welcome. Each morning we had a gourmet breakfast that was amazing. We will definitely be back!

I love sisters! Even though all our chatting about family made me dream about my brothers and sisters - it was fun! I have noticed its the women who appreciate all the small touches we use to try to make your visit perfect. Hopefully next time your sister travels the long distance to visit you, we'll see you both again - anytime of the year :)
