“Top of the line - Victorian Class and Style !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 September 2013

Stayed for a couple of nights at this beautiful Victorian Inn in the Niagara region. Upon arrival, we admired the beautiful lobby and were immediately attended to at reception by a very polite and helpful young man. We were directed to our room and it was exactly what we had expected. Clean, comfortable and luxurious. Everything was first class. All hotel personnel were extremely polite and friendly. The salt water pool area is nicely furnished and so Victorian Art Nouveau. Had an evening meal at the Escabèche restaurant and a couple of drinks at the bar afterwards. All was first class and well worth the money we paid for this experience. The downtown location makes this a great location for walking around or driving a short distance to the wineries. The best hotel in Niagara on the Lake !

We chose Prince of Whales for part of our 40th anniversary get away. The location was perfect for walking to all the shops and restaurants. Our room was not ready when we arrived a little before four so we went for a walk. Still not ready when we returned so we waited in the lobby for another 1/2 hour. Our room was a standard King, no frills. They put a lovely bottle of wine in our room with a card wishing us a happy anniversary. A nice touch. We did not eat dinner in the restaurant because the prices were extremely high. We had breakfast there, though and it was delicious.
The staff was very nice and helpful. We thought the price was too high for the small average room and you have to pay for parking.

My hubby and I had an amazing overall experience on NOTL. Food great; shopping is nice and the wine is always welcome.

In reviewing this hotel; I must preempt myself by saying that I am a perfectionist and should you have high standards, this will not wow you. However the lobby was scented with fresh roses and took me away to some British affluent household!

Our check-in time was later than our arrival and the girl at the desk was not able to quicken the process. We had to wait until after our wine tasting to get in. We used the bathroom in the basement and the bathroom was not up to par. The room was pretty enough but the lemon yellow on the walls did not match the butter yellow of the fabric. The bathroom caulking had mildew and the fruit had the stickers left on it! I also wasn't able to plug my Iphone into anything.

It was nothing to write home about; seems as how I waited awhile to visit the venue. I wouldn't stay there again and would try somewhere else in town.

Having said all that; I was left a bottle of champange for anniversary celebration and the cleaning lady was really sweet and the bathroom products were the Gilchrist & Soames collection.

If your not a picky, picky person you will love it!

Room Tip: we had the room from the front look out and it felt quite special.

Beautiful luxurious hotel in the heart of Niagara On The Lake ON. One can relax in the salt water pool and hot tub, sit on a balcony enjoying the beautiful flowers all around or walk through the town at your leisure. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Food delicious whether at the bar lounge or lovely dining rooms. The rooms are exquisite decorated with 4 poster beds, such comfortable bedding with all everyone could wish for in the old décor of the rooms. Turn down service and extremely quiet for sleeping. Spa and gym.

Room Tip: When booking ask for any specials available and we prefer the front of the hotel looking on to the m...

A friend and I visted here for a girls night getaway. We arranged to have a massage, swim in the lovely salt water pool, and dine in the exquisite restaurant for dinner. We also bought theatre tickets to a play at the Shaw Festival. The theatre was walking distance from The Prince of Wales Hotel.
It was a fabulous location, terrific ambience throughout, and the food in the restaurant was innovative and delicious. What a wonderful stay! I would highly recommend The Prince of Wales Hotel if you want pampering, luxury, and impeccable service. We will return!

We've been going to the Vintage Inn Hotels for many years - about 20 years. We love the Queens Landing, but our favourite is the Prince of Wales. This time we had the Superior Room. The hotel is clean and elegant and I love that I feel like I'm being spoilt. The best part of the hotel is the people - they are amazing! Helpful, friendly and quick to offer their help to make your visit special. We ate in the Escabèche restaurant has wonderful food - both dinner and breakfast, but we were very late for our dinner reservation and they went out of their way to make us feel like it wasn't a problem (even though it was very close to closing) and didn't rush us! The service again was wonderful - and matched the food! Great stay as always.

Room Tip: Stay on the front rooms of the hotel - in the main part of the hotel. We have in the past, noticed...

We stayed at the POW for a last minute sister-in-law get away. A third sister joined us unexpectedly. We asked a housekeeper in the hallway for an extra wine glass and she could not have been more wonderful. Within minutes she brought extra towels, wine glass, bath robe, bottled water, coffee mug, coffee and towels. Our room was beautiful and sparkling clean, and it was lovely to come back in the evening to see a long stemmed rose on the beds with the turn down service. We had high tea one afternoon in the elegant dining room, the selection of tea, finger sandwiches, scones and pastries was absolutely delicious! The hotel is right in the heart of town by all the shops and restaurants. The front desk service is very accommodating and friendly. Our only regret is that our stay was not longer. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: Since we needed two double beds, we did not have as many room choices.
