The Prince of Wales hotel is not only beautiful, the service is extraordinary. Every single employee we came across went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The hotel even picked up our booze when our wine tour at Zoom refused too (but that's on another review). The little things were so well thought out- these guys are pros. They had express check-out and allowed us to park with them free of charge even after we had checked out. We recieved an upgrade on our room despite the fact that the random new booking we did for an additional day was totally our fault. The concierge and even the bell boys were respectful, funny and knowledgeable. It's really nice when you meet employees who are clearly treated well by management and genuinely enjoy what they do. The food onsite was decent, and the service was personable. We also enjoyed that we could go to virtually any Vintage Hotel enterprise and be treated as guests while dining or having a massage. Just the perfect romantic getaway- well worth the price!

Thank you for working hard to make our entire vacation wonderful- the hotel went above and beyond its responsibilities to make our experience (not just our stay) in Niagara on the lake the best!

Room Tip: Ask about the Molly McGuire story, and try not to stay in that room.

My husband and I stayed at the Prince of Wales May 22 and 23rd 2014. This was our second visit to the Prince of Wales and fourth trip to Niagara-on-the-Lake. We were greeted warmly on arrival in the beautiful lobby for a quick, smooth check-in. We stayed in a beautiful well appointed deluxe room (room #171) in the Prince of Wales Court with a king size bed, fireplace, and patio. The room had a nice roomy bathroom with a towel warmer (nice touch), also robes in the closet, and an umbrella in case of rain. As the weather was just beginning to warm, the gardens were being tended and the annuals being planted--absolutely lovely! We did not dine on site, so I cannot comment on the food. There is a really great shuttle service provided by the hotel for any guests that want to go out and do not want to drive. We did use this service one evening and the driver "Bill" was awesome. All staff was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived through check out. Thank you once again Prince of Wales. You do not disappoint!

We just returned from an excellent two day stay at the Prince of Wales in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Once you step into the lobby, you know that this is a unique and wonderful place. The arrangements of roses were beautiful and fragrant and the staff was welcoming and helpful. The decor is Victorian and you wonder who all the old portraits are of. Our room was had a huge king sized four poster bed. It was high with a little stool to climb up on. It was so comfortable. We had a fireplace which made the room very cozy. The bath room was very well appointed and even had a towel warmer.
We had lunch on the outdoor patio. The food was very good and the service was excellent. They only have tables for two outside, bigger parties cannot be accommodated . We had dinner in the dining room. It is a real treat to eat off a formal table, real silver !!! The food was perfectly cooked and the service was top notch. The prices are not cheap and this is a special occasion restaurant .
We also used the salt-water pool and the hot tub, and since we were the only ones there it was very relaxing.
The rack rate posted for our room was $ 570.00. This is way out of our price range. We were there on a gift certificate from our family for a 50th anniversary. Most people checking in seem to be there on one package deal or another. So, certainly there must be deals to be had. We have stayed in a wonderful boutique hotel in Rome with breakfast included for half that price.
The location of the Prince of Wales is ideal for people going to the Shaw Festival and all the interesting shops on Queen st.
For that extra special stay at an exceptional hotel I don' t think that you could beat the pampered service that you will get at the Prince of Wales, if it is in your price range.

Room Tip: Our room was in the main building of the hotel. We went on a Monday , Tuesday so it wasn't busy...

From the minute we walked into the lobby to the moment we left this was 24 hours to remember. We were greeted right away by JP at the front desk and like all the staff we met he was cheery, helpful and very well informed about everything in the Niagara region. This high level of service continued throughout our visit. Twice we were asked about how we found our room: was everything satisfactory? ( it was!)

The pub was warm and cosy with an interesting selection of micro brews. The ubiquitous Victorian and Edwardian art wherever you look creates a timeless atmosphere even in the beautiful swimming pool. The highlight of our visit was a fantastic meal at the Escabeche Restaurant. The choices in all parts of the menu were intriguing and it was very difficult to pick one. Brad our waiter, made sure we made different choices so we could share at least a taste from each other's meal. Everything was beautifully prepared and served with a perfect pace. Brad was not shy to make suggestions and because he like JP was so well informed we not disappointed.

All in all a day and night to remember.

We stayed at the Prince of Wales Hotel in April and we were pleasantly surprised at how nice it was. The room was warm and cosy feeling. Almost like you were staying in a large country home.
the room was detailed well with victorian accents that was appealing....not stuffy. The room had fresh fruit and an umbrella for walking. We requested a quiet room out of the way of traffic and we were placed at the end of the corridor in the last building we did not hear a soul.
The corridors/staircases had a feeling of a old home in a good way. We loved all the old paintings and the stunning stencilled hardwood floor in the lobby.
If you are looking for escape we recommend this hotel. good food, atmosphere, and service.

Room Tip: if you want a quiet sleep ask to be at the end of the hall of the last building.

Once again the hotel staff have made our stay a terrific success. We come once a year for our anniversary and always feel pampered. The Escabeche dining room is a must go. Executive Chef, Chris Smythe's menu is full of a wonderful selection of exotic combinations. The best rooms are the corner suites with fireplace and king bed.
