“Great Food and View, but can we sit outdoors at breakfast?”
Reviewed 2 August 2014

We stopped in for coffee on the outside deck/patio with the awesome lakefront view, however, they offer no service during breakfast hours outside..but since we were there, we decided to stay and have a bite to eat inside the restaurant.
The server was just so-so..not very friendly to us initially. They also do not serve alcohol in a.m. (10:00 a.m.) and we wanted a bloody mary or mimosa..no alcohol until 11:30 per server. Another disappointment. The food, however, was nicely presented (the yogurt/granola, grilled banana bread, and fresh fruit) and quite tasty (the poached eggs with black bean salsa and monterey jack cheese over bbq pulled pork and served on grilled corn bread)...rave reviews for such an unusual dish. Would recommend trying this place- and hopefully sharing about the outside serving hours and inability to enjoy a morning libation while on vacation will assist you in your timing of your visit.

“Patio bliss”
Reviewed 1 August 2014

Looking over Lake Ontario, Fort Niagara and the Niagara river , this patio is second to none.
The menu is an eclectic grouping of unique appetizers, sandwiches and entrees. We started with delightful bloody Mary's accompanied by a cranberry , walnut and goat cheese dip with tortilla chips. For our entrees we both took the Arctic char on crisp kale ....
A delightful Niagara white and red wine accompanied dinner. Live guitar capped the evening. Our young waitstaff was attentive and cheery.

“Now we know the origin of the hockey puck”
Reviewed 30 July 2014

The patio view of the lake and river are quite pleasing, and the wine was good. We should have stopped right there. I ordered an assorted cheese and fruit plate with crackers. I asked our server before the order was placed about the cheeses and the varieties of the fruit. I was told the fruit was all assorted berries....strawberries, blueberries, etc. No berries on the plate that was delivered, not even one. Instead there were hard little fruits that kind of, sort of resembled miniature peaches, but they had absolutely no flavor to help identify them and when asked, the server was clueless as to what they actually were; she did however then bring me a plate with a few strawberries and blueberries. The crackers were giant wafers that crumbled if you dared to spread any of the soft cheeses on the plate. My wife ordered a burger and when she asked if she could order how it was cooked, she was told it came like it came, but it was delicious......Warning! Warning, Will Robinson! But she ordered it anyway. How it came was round, hard and black; hence the hockey puck referral in the title. Establishment rated a two because of friendly server and good view. The food rated nothing. Avoid, there are lots of good places in town to dine.

“nice breakfast for reasonable price in old town notl”
Reviewed 26 July 2014

The Niagara-on-The-Lake Golf Club Restaurant has a great breakfast special. Its an early bird special from (Served Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM)
2 Eggs any style with Home Fries, Bacon and Toast. $7. The service was fast and the server very friendly and food prepared in good time. We were seated overlooking the lake, Its hard to find a reasonable priced place to eat in tourist town Niagara-on-the-Lake so when we came across this early bird special we made plans to come to the golf club to eat while we were there for a play at the Shaw. The menu is posted out by the front door, the prices for dinner were very pricey. The server even gave us a nice plate of fruit while we waited for our breakfasts free.

Reviewed 22 July 2014

Heard the view was great and the patio lived up to expectations. Only restaurant ON the water with a view of the lake, sail boats, and Fort Niagara. The food was good, nothing fancy....Sandwiches,burgers,good appetizers(Wings small but tasty). We loved this place because of the GREAT view.Staff were friendly and the fries(chips) were super. A little on the expensive side for the food offered(Burger $13 CAD) but the VIEW.... wonderful.
