We stayed in this charming cottage after a hectic week in Toronto. As soon as we opened the front door we both gave a very relaxed sigh it was like coming home, the grounds had been recently maintained and everything really was picture perfect, this is a great location in a beautiful area...Niagara on the Lake is a very well kept chocolate box town.Treat yourself you will love it,we'll be back for sure

The pictures are a bit deceiving as the furnishings are a mishmash and old. The towels were clean but grungy looking. The outside porch and patio had not been swept or cleaned up. It has great potential to be a charming cottage.

We had excellent time in such a quaint clean cottage. Only needed to bring food and our personel belongings everything else was there. We were able to take long walks in the morning along the river with our pup. Had a chance to enjoy the shaw festival and of course walk through the historical village & shops. Beats staying in a hotel! We will be back.
Thank you again to our host Janet.

“Charming, Peaceful and Quiet”

Hubs and I just finished a 4 night stay at Dreamweaver Cottage and had a wonderful time! For those who only read the first 3 sentences of reviews, let me say now: we will definitely return. The cottage is clean, private, well-kept and lovely.

We were pleasantly surprised to be called on the day of our arrival to let us know if we wanted, we could check in 3 hours sooner than we expected! How often does that happen? Upon arrival we easily found the cottage in a quaint neighbourhood steps away from Lake Ontario, a lovely 20 minute walk from the old main part of the town of Niagara-on-the-Lake. Close enough for access, far enough away to avoid the crowds and chaos of busy weekends in town! Feels like true cottage country... there are no sidewalks, you stroll right down the small roads. Huge shady trees, Little individual cottages that are unique and quaint. No 'cookie cutter' look-alike homes here... these little old places are the real deal. It's adorable.

Initially the cottage was warm (it was a sweltering day) but we were pleased to find that the A/C works very well and cooled the cottage down in no time. A separate window unit cooled down the upper bedroom loft nicely for bed time.

Plenty of clean towels, divine complimentary neob lavender shampoos and shower gels, bathrooms impreccably clean. The king sized bed was comfortable and nicely made. We did not use the fold out sofa in the L/R, so can't say how that is. Sleeping for 4, yes, but the cottage itself is VERY roomy and could easily handle company for dinner and/or a bbq if you have friends or family staying at another location in town.

The kitchen was VERY well stocked with all the pots, pans, dishes, etc, anyone would need for a lengthy stay. All appliances worked well. BBQ was very good, nice and hot. TV and internet worked great. Lots of tv channels to choose from. Lots of DVDs there too.

Yard was clean and lots of lawn chairs. Unfortunately nobody seems to be attending to the flower gardens and it's a shame because the yard could be a spectacular oasis. The small lawns were neatly moved, but some perennial flowers would easily turn this sweet little place into a "Secret Garden" kind of get away. It is fully fenced, so dogs and children will stay put.

We brought our small dog and enjoyed several walks a day. The neighbourhood is quiet and lazy. No fast traffic. No noisy neighbours. Definitely a place to stay if you want your blood pressure to go down.

Location is excellent for visiting wineries, shops in town, antique shops, the Supper Market at the Garrison Market place and fruit stands along Lakeshore Drive.

We will be back. The privacy and relaxed location of this cottage is MUCH preferable to a hotel... and better price per night!

Liked best: Quiet, lazy little neighbourhood.
Liked least: Sad to see flower gardens were overgrown with weeds. Still, the yards were green and shady and pleasant.

Thanks so much for taking the time to write such a wonderful and comprehensive review! You must have ESP on the gardens because we just remembered that we hadn't scheduled the gardener for the spring clean up and to plant the window boxes!!

We are looking forward to your return visit!
