We stay at the moffat inn when we cannot get into our favorite hotel prince of wales. same ownership i am pretty sure,.We have always had a very nice clean room especially for the price and once i could not cancel on time 48 hours, last minute had car trouble and they were so understanding and helpful. I definatly would reccomend this hotel if you are on more of a budget for NOTL. In the summer they have nice rooms with little patio space so we have a cocktail outside ( byob!) hahaha nd enjoy the relaxation. I love NOTL and always enjoy and look forward to my next stay. JULI

Great little hotel. Courteous check in. This is not a fancy hotel like some in the area, but it does the trick if you are looking to stay central in Niagara On The Lake. We did have to ask for a re-clean of our bathroom upon check in. The restaurant/pub is not open in the winter months-check before you go...

A terrific value at $129 for the "traditional room" -- which had a fireplace and was big enough. Right on the main street, easy walking to all the shops and restaurants. Parking on the property. Friendly staff. I will come back again -- for business and pleasure. The town is really Kool.

You can use the fitness center and spa in one of the other co-owned hotels in town -- if you have time. I didn't have time.

This Inn is part of the Vintage Hotel Group. So you can use the spa and fitness center and pool at the upscale Prince of Wales Hotel which is only across the street. The Inn is much less expensive and has some pretty large rooms - especially those on the first floor. The staff is very helpful. They have a pub restaurant open for lunch and dinner. It's in easy walking distance from all of the Shaw Festival Theaters and the shopping district. It's a real find.

Room Tip: Try for room 123 - it's large, has a patio and gas fireplace and sitting area.

My friend and I met in Niagara-on -Lake for a short vacation. The Moffat Inn is in the heart of town, walking distance from everything. Their parking lot is a Godsend in a town tight on parking, with everything metered. However, we were never asked if we had a car or in our case 2 cars, what kind and the plate numbers. This could have been a problem what with their Pub customers and possibly any one else! Canadians are very lay back; not that this is a complaint by any means..it is quite appealing. The Inn itself is small, cozy, welcoming, comfortable, quiet and generally clean. The staff is friendly and eager to accommodate you. The morning coffee in the lounge is delicious. The prices are fair and they are one of the Vintage Hotel group, ( one of which is the gorgeous Prince of Wales Hotel right next door ). I wish that I had been told in advance that I would have access to the Prince of Wales facilities (pool, spa, business center etc.), as I would have brought my swim suit ..We hope to revisit again sometime.

Room Tip: Rooms are on 2 floors; one can only walk up to 2nd floor.

I chose this hotel because it was the only place with rooms available that weren't in the $400 range. This quaint little town is POPULAR on summer weekends and I snagged the last low priced room. I was a little nervous as the price range was so dramatically lower then any other of the hotels I looked into ($129 for a single room) but it is part of the four "Vintage Hotels" chain so I figured it couldn't be all that bad. The room was NYC small and just fit a bed and a TV, but it was clean and nicely furnished. It faced the street which was a plus and during a particularly rainy day it turned out to be quite a cozy room to curl up in. I also used the spa at "Pillar and Post", one of their other vintage hotels, and loved it. Niagara is so beautiful you'll want to spend it outdoors, so if you're looking to spend your money on theater and daytrips and NOT on the hotel, this is the place to go.

The hotel is an older property so the layout is not the best. The room was a little disjointed so to speak - one of their premium rooms. Cleanliness was good except for one glaring fault. The top of the bedboard was covered with several layers of dust. Now admittedly it would reguire the person serving the room to stand on the bed to clean it, but never the less it was really bad. Everything else was quite clean. The service and staff were charming and really wanted to respond to every question with warmth and information. Nothing was too much to ask.
