My wife took me away for my 50th Birthday and she chose The Old Bank House. We spent 2 nights there. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The house is filled with charm and character. Located right down by the water there are stunning views looking out over the Niagara River to Fort Niagara. Only 2 blocks from the main drag it makes for a nice walk to shops and restaurants. Having never been to Niagara on the lake she couldn't have chosen a nicer B&B. Michael and Judy were great hosts and breakfast was both delicious and first class. We would highly recommend this B&B. Theres a waterfront Gazebo only steps away that would be perfect for a wedding for those interested.

We are English living in Ontario, we have guests from over the pond every year. We found this B & B 6 years ago. Michael the owner goes out of his way to ensure your stay is memorable, which they always are. Our UK guests were amazed at the B & B, the rooms , lounge and breakfasts, awesome. Gets my vote every year

We travel to NOTL almost every year and this trip chose to stay at The Old Bank House. It was a very warm, inviting and accommodating venue with probably the most PERFECT location in town. Sit on the front porch across from the park and see the lake views.... 5 minute walk to the center of town as well. Our room was extremely well presented and except for the small 12in TV (which we never watched) exceeded all expectations. The breakfasts were just wonderful and nicely presented with more than enough food and hospitality to go around. A wonderful couple (forgot their names) lives in and manages the inn - and they were just delightful. This is definitely worth a return trip hands down next time we visit.

We spent three nights at the Old Bank House with our 14-year-old grandson while attending the Shaw Festival. The accommodations and breakfasts were first-rate. The inn faces Lake Ontario and is a short walk from the festival's theaters, as well as most of the town's restaurants and shops. The folks who run the B&B are courteous and helpful, without being obtrusive. Service was excellent.

My wife and I decided to take a quick overnight at NOTL. We luckily were able to find accommodations at the Old Bank House. It's location is on Front St. just off the entrance of Lake Ontario, a few short steps and you have a great view of the lake and can see Fort Niagara, then a few blocks in the opposite direction and you're in the middle of town. The home is very nice, our room (Rose) was very large. I thought the bed mattress too hard, my wife thought it just right. We both thought the breakfast was great. There is off street parking, but I found it to be tight on spaces. I would definitely recommend this B&B.

My parents, husband and I had a great stay here. The owners were lovely and very accommodating. The house is about a 3 minute walk to the main street, and has a great view of the water. It's the perfect spot to sit on the veranda and relax. But the true highlight is the morning breakfast...wow.

We are not normally B&B afficianados but in NOTL it seems to be the thing to do. On the positive side, the entire inn looks to be recently renovated and the public areas are very well maintained and attractive. Our king-bed room was comfortable albeit small. The bathroom was large enough, the shower worked as needed and there was plenty of hot water, so we were quite comfortable. Amenities were average. The two breakfasts we enjoyed were truly excellent. The lake views are gorgeous, the location is super being only two blocks from town, and the front porch is inviting as a relaxing spot to chat with other guests and watch folks stroll by to and from the lake.

During our stay the hosts were both helpful and friendly, even if a bit reserved. They gave us helpful restaurant recommendations and free tasting tickets to local wineries. But the biggest plus of all was the value when comparing what we got for the price we paid, and when compared to the published prices of more highly rated inns.

On the flip side, there were a few annoyances: there was no individual climate control in our room which left us either gasping for cooler air or muggy from opening the french door during a rainy evening. There is not enough off-street parking, so the late comers must park on the street. Breakfast is scheduled for 9 AM but didn't really get going until much later on both mornings of our stay - that's just too late for most people. Early coffee would have been a nice touch although it was cheerfully provided on individual request. Afternoon wine & cheese would also have been a nice touch as is often offered in other B&B's...I'm sure a promotional deal could be worked out with some local winery.

The bottom line is that we did enjoy our stay, could stay there again but would look around first for something a bit more "guest oriented."
