We enjoyed the breakfast provided in the mornings but not the room. The old 12 inch T.V. was smaller than my lap top and it came complete with a remote that had no back on it, so the batteries spilled over the floor every time you used it. Our bedding consisted of sheets, a car blanket and an old bedspread. Forget any duvets here! The antiques were cheap plastic replicas but the real antique was the mattress we slept on! The rug was old and dirty. As other guest checked in, the water pressure went down! At $200.00 per night, this is not a good value or experience. The location is good but the “Bed” part of this Bed and Breakfast needs a lot of work.

We stayed here for 3 nights. It was very comfortable and we loved the location, decor, style and atmosphere of the house. I agree with some other reviews that the towels were a bit flimsy and for the money I would expect a few more little touches such as tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water in the room. Overall very nice, but could do a little better.

Spent a delightful weekend in Niagara on the lake. This inn is located on King st. A perfect location. It's away from the hustle & bustle of Queen st. It is close enough to walk to restaurants, shopping & even the Festival Theatre.
The inn itself is charming w/some quirky decorations. Breakfast is held downstairs in a room surrounded by glass doors & a view onto Lake Ontario. Not that you need a view w/the very tasty breakfasts taking your attention. The eggs Benedict w/smoked salmon was a great slant on the dish.
We had a great afternoon & took advantage of an hour enjoying the front porch!
An incredible place to stay! Thank you!

Room Tip: It looks like all the rooms are good.

We were going to Niagara-on-the-Lake for the Shaw Festival and decided to stay at the Old Bank House based on a recommendation from my brother. We were delighted. As other reviewers have stated, the location is great. The Inn faces the mouth of the Niagara River and Lake Ontario, with views of Fort Niagara on the U.S. side of the river. Only two of the rooms actually face out on the river, but all the rooms take advantage of the pretty and quiet neighborhood. The rooms themselves are very quiet. While we were there the Inn was fully booked, but we never heard noise or voices from the other rooms or from the common areas. Don't expect to use the in-room televisions for much - they are 12-inch screens. We never turned ours on and didn't miss it a bit! The breakfasts were exceptional, as has been indicated by other reviewers - different entres for each of the four mornings we were there.

The owners are very pleasant. Perhaps a bit more reserved than some U.S. guests are used to, but we found them delightful. They respected our privacy until we asked them questions which they were always prepared to answer. Their staff was also respectful and very competent. By our second morning, they knew which of our foursome drank coffee, decaf and tea.

Overall, we had a delightful experience and will seriously consider going back to the Old Bank House when we return to Niagara-on-the-Lake - maybe next year . . .

Room Tip: We were in the Pearl Room, which had a Juliette balcony facing out on King Street. The king-sized b...

My wife took me away for my 50th Birthday and she chose The Old Bank House. We spent 2 nights there. It was quiet, clean and very comfortable. The house is filled with charm and character. Located right down by the water there are stunning views looking out over the Niagara River to Fort Niagara. Only 2 blocks from the main drag it makes for a nice walk to shops and restaurants. Having never been to Niagara on the lake she couldn't have chosen a nicer B&B. Michael and Judy were great hosts and breakfast was both delicious and first class. We would highly recommend this B&B. Theres a waterfront Gazebo only steps away that would be perfect for a wedding for those interested.

Room Tip: They're all good

We are English living in Ontario, we have guests from over the pond every year. We found this B & B 6 years ago. Michael the owner goes out of his way to ensure your stay is memorable, which they always are. Our UK guests were amazed at the B & B, the rooms , lounge and breakfasts, awesome. Gets my vote every year

We travel to NOTL almost every year and this trip chose to stay at The Old Bank House. It was a very warm, inviting and accommodating venue with probably the most PERFECT location in town. Sit on the front porch across from the park and see the lake views.... 5 minute walk to the center of town as well. Our room was extremely well presented and except for the small 12in TV (which we never watched) exceeded all expectations. The breakfasts were just wonderful and nicely presented with more than enough food and hospitality to go around. A wonderful couple (forgot their names) lives in and manages the inn - and they were just delightful. This is definitely worth a return trip hands down next time we visit.
