The interpreters were quite knowledgeable and the exhibits informative. The demonstrations were pretty cool, too.

Haven't been here since I was a student back in grad 8 and I'm glad we decided to include this on our brief stay. Beautifully manicured grounds, informative and interactive displays with friendly re-enactors dressed to the T for the period. We enjoyed the time spent here. They are celebrating their 200 year anniversary all year, so I would definitely recommend adding this to your visit.

Enactors gave us a briefing on the battle, and also fired muskets. Opened our eyes to the fact that what is taught in the history books in the US is a very one-sided view.

Fort George is an admirable historical recreation of a 19th century British colonial fort. If you've ever read a Jane Austen novel and wondered what those "red coated" soldiers did for a living, you can find out by touring Fort George. Check the schedule as you enter to find out when they will have the daily special events such as firing cannons and "forming a square."

The difficulties we have had involved family members who were entirely mobile. It can be a great deal of walking for senior citizens and small children. It is rather rough terrain for some strollers, wheel chairs, and canes. Also, discussions of ghosts haunting the fort terrified my sensitive 7 year old.

Still, my father, who was a history buff, absolutely loved visiting Fort George, despite the mobility challenges it represented. If you want history, don't miss this attraction.
