“History Tour”
Reviewed 28 May 2014

It was a wonderful experience to visit this Fort and learn from the era in an entertaining way. Everyone was dress as the time the fort was operational and even the kitchen bakers made cookies and bread according to the method used during those times and gave a tasting. The musket firearm exhibition was a blast!

“Pleasantly surprised”
Reviewed 27 May 2014

Came here solely for my friends but left educated and entertained! Presented our parking receipt to have the $6 deducted from one admission. For extra $22 they offered us the opportunity to dress in the soldiers' traditional uniform and fire a musket three times along with souvenir photos, but we declined. Each building in the fort has its own presentation and history. The dressed guides provided the most interesting information so don't hesitate to talk to them. Children (and adults) and try on some of the soldiers' jackets in the barracks, sample bread/shortcake at another building, and watch a musket demonstration in the afternoon. We also had the opportunity to watch their drum corps practice for the summer which was a treat. I had very low expectations as I'm not a history buff but left really impressed!

“Nicely presented!”
Reviewed 25 May 2014

There were rather young guides at Fort George, but they knew their history. They were passionate about telling the history of the people living at Fort George during the War of 1812. Very interesting! We also saw the muskrat presentation. Don't miss it! It is a nice activity for young and old.

“Early History Explained”
Reviewed 24 May 2014

A trip to Fort George is to be recommended. Rebuilt and set out as a living museum with characters in full costume the Fort tells the story of the conflict with the Yankees and the English in 1813. A real treat for young and old.
