“Wonderful get-away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 10 June 2014

Ed and Irene are a delightful balance of attentive and friendly innkeepers. We liked the location of Abacot Hall which allowed for a nice walk to the heart of the old town area. NOTL neighborhoods are lovely to walk through. It was also easy to get on the road to the wineries and other attractions as well. We felt very well cared for in the mornings at breakfast which was very yummy and included Ed's home made bread and fresh offerings from the area. Warm hospitality, lovely room and relaxing area, peaceful and very clean will bring us to Abacot Hall for our future visits to Niagara-on-the-Lake.

We were greeted by Ed and Irene, our charming hosts, upon arrival. They were quick to provide ideas on where to go for dinner and things to do in town. Our room was cute and comfortable complete with a TV & ensuite. Ed made magnificent breakfasts with a delightful surprise (book your visit soon and see what we mean.)

Altogether a lovely stay. We will be back!

This was our 3rd stay in 3 years at Abacot Hall. We go to Niagara-On-The-Lake for the wineries and the Shaw, and Abacot is great place to stay. Ed and Irene are awesome hosts. After our 1st stay, they remembered many of our likes and preferences for our next stays, a good sign that they are attentive and pay attention to their guests. I read many of the recent reviews, and I agree with all the wonderful comments, so I wanted to say a few things to add to what has been said. Like others, in previous years, we greatly enjoyed sitting outside on the upstairs patio after a day of wine tasting and would open a bottle of wine we bought. Sometimes Ed and Irene would bring out some wines that they enjoyed as well, and we would have a nice visit. Unfortunately, the weather didn't cooperate this year, but there is a comfortable sitting room available to guests where we enjoyed a 'happy hour' with some goodies we bought at Harvest Barn down the road, as well as some wine. (There is a gas fireplace in the common room, but we didn't make use of it.) We found that because the weather was cool and rainy, it was nice to have a place to relax outside our room, which is always clean and comfortable, but is still just a bedroom. There is no question, we will be back!

My husband and I stayed at this lovely B&B during a recent week-end, and enjoyed our visit thoroughly. Ed and Irene are wonderful hosts, warm, friendly, attentive to details that made our stay very special. We enjoyed the individually prepared and beautifully presented breakfasts which included fresh fruit from the local market, as well as local jams. I need to eat gluten-free, and they provided a delicious gluten-free bread from the bakery just down the street. They also made dinner reservations for us for Saturday night at an awesomely good local restaurant. We spent many peaceful moments on the 2nd floor balcony, reading, relaxing, and listening to the many birds who came to visit their yard. This was our first visit, but it certainly won't be our last.

This was our second time at this most welcoming B&B. Ed and Irene are most gracious hosts and do everything they can to make your stay a memorable one! I particularly like their individualized breakfast and the home made bread. We are looking forward to our next visit!

We just took our second annual Memorial Day weekend trip to Niagara on the Lake, and again Abacot Hall B & B was our choice for adding a lovely dimension to a wonderful place. Ed and Irene are wonderful hosts -- it's like a home away from home for us. From the individualized breakfast choices to the well-appointed rooms to their excellent knowledge of the area, our stay is always a treat, totally worth the 7+ hour drive it takes to get there!

This was our 3rd time staying with Ed and Irene at Abacot Hall. They are wonderful hosts, always going above and beyond. As one example, my tire light came on just as we arrived in town. Ed checked and filled my tires and reset the warning light, all while we were out enjoying a walk through the town. I can't imagine that all B&B proprietors would be so thoughtful. We love the extra details here - the beverage station and fridge that are available for guests, the bikes, and the chocolates in our rooms. The breakfasts are delicious and we always enjoy chatting with Irene and the other guests. We are treated like family and are always happy to return for our annual stay.
