“Clean, Rustic Feeling..”
Reviewed 28 October 2012

I Stayed here around Thanksgiving for a wedding. It was my first time in the region and I thought it was a great little location. The hotel was clean, room were comfortable. The gym area was small but had all the necessary equipment. I only ate in the restaurant once, and it was just below average.

The hotel is located in wine country, there are tons of wineries in the area and it is also very close to the falls. About 2hr drive to Toronto, you can visit quite a bit with a car.

Room Tip: Views out the back are nicer.

We booked our room with Expedia and were very pleased with the rate and the accommodations. The hotel is modern, comfortable, clean, and offers all the amenities you will need. We had a frig, microwave, and coffee maker in our room along with free wi fi. The staff was helpful and friendly. The convenient location was great for the wineries, Niagara on the Lake shopping area, restaurants, and the Niagara Falls. You do need a car to get around, but you would need a car anywhere you stay in this area if you plan on taking in all the sites. I would definitely recommend this hotel to friends.

Today I had a lovely lunch at this hotel's restaurant. As well as a delicious homemade soup, I also had wonderful homemade crab cakes that measure up quite nicely to those I have had on the eastern shores of Maryland. The service was terrific. I can highly recommend this restaurant to locals as well as out of towners. The prices were quite reasonable also.

I had a room booked here for a friends wedding. The room was a bit cheaper then the website price since we had a block of rooms. Rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. Both myself and a few others friends staying in other rooms thought the air conditioning could have been cooler. We ate the ($12) buffett breakfast in the morning and it was good. All the staples...bacon, eggs made to order, juices, etc.
If you are staying for a wedding liek myself just know taxi's can be a pain to get. The center of town is a solid 15 minutes away so you may have to wait a bit. Getting a taxi home can also be a pain at the end of the night if there is no shuttle. Just an FYI as there were 3 other wedding groups staying in the hotel at the same time.

Dear Tour Gide...

Thank you for taking time from your busy schedule to write a review. We are happy to hear that you have enjoyed our breakfast buffet, eggs cooked to order and many other extras at the reasonable price of $12.95. Most of our selective clientele find our location very convenient, as it is only short pleasant 15 minutes drive to downtown Niagara-on-the-Lake or Famous Niagara Falls CASINO. Our specious rooms rates and wedding packages are reasonably priced compare to downtown and for that reason many wedding planners are recommending our hotel and upscale facilities for wedding receptions with outdoor or indoor ceremonies and accommodations and ample FREE Parking. We are looking forward to welcome you back in the very near future. With kind regards and Skål: Frank Vismeg

This hotel is located directly off the highway exit for easy access. It is also conveniently located close to the local wineries and Niagra-on-the-Lake is not too far away (you will need a car to get there). We caught a late winery tour and dinner at Niagra-on-the-Lake before checking-in. We were only there for one night, but upon check-in noticed that the assigned higher floor room was scratched out on our registration card and replaced with a first floor room. We usually request a higher floor room, away from the elevators, which is what it looked like we originally had, but it was switched for the first floor room by the elevators. Usually, I wouldn't complain, but this was a special occasion, so it was bad timing on the hotel's part. Otherwise, everything else was fine and we would probably stay here again if we travelled back to the area.

Room Tip: Check-in early to get your assigned room or it may get switched to another location that you may be...

This hotel is close to Niagara Falls, Welland Canal, the wineries and Niagara-on-the-lake. The rooms are clean updated and have adjustable mattress firmness...which was great. The breakfast buffet gave plenty of choices with made to order omelets, eggs and pancakes as well as meats, french toast, cereals, fruits, pastries and other options. The swimming pool and hot tub was clean and comforting after a days journey. We'll stay here again if in the area.

Room Tip: We had a room near the end of hall, very quiet.

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. Whilst the facilities are on a par with other hotels, it is the staff which makes this hotel great.
The reception, kitchen and waiting staff are all brilliant and then there is Roger the barperson, what a great guy, he will help you with anything.
There is a fast food mall across if you are on a budget and it has a good selection of outlets.
The only reason I have not awarded an excellent rating is I believe the hotel ran a bus shuttle service to nearby Niagra on the Lake (a must see) but they stopped it. The taxi fare is 30 dollars which adds a bit to your day.
But overall I would stay here again. When it came time to leave saying goodbye to the staff was like saying goodbye to family.

Room Tip: Request a room facing the rear as you view the forest and can see a lot of wildlife.
