On our recent holiday, my wife and I travelled across Canada ending up in Niagara on the lake for a visit to the Shaw festival, and have to say we were both very impressed. As we hadn't yet booked an hotel some people we met, suggested we check a B&B going by the name of Highgrove and within easy walking distance from the town. OK we said, and off we went on our travels once more in search of the place. Not to understate it, we both found the house quite charming, set back from the road, the well established gardens and tree's looked a picture in full bloom.
The host's booked us in and showed us to our room, as good as any hotel anywhere, attention to detail far exceeded our expectations, we had fresh flowers in our room every day (well the 3 days we stayed anyway ) clean, crisp linen every day an eclectic mix of furniture and art from all around the world set in a beautifully decorated house. The food we were served at breakfast was as good as any we had had in the hotels
(no better) and set us up for the day.
Our Host's Mike and Bruce made our stay a very memerable one,and so well informed about their town and places for us to visit is a real treat compared to the impersonal service you get from hotels.
We have certainly recommended Highgrove to our friends and family as the place to stay when in town, and we look forward to another trip there in the future.
