I was delighted to return to the Williams Gate (I think that this was our 10th stay) and this time we came, with family and friends, to experience NOTL through its fine restaurants and vintners. We (my husband, a brother and several friends) attended the Progressive Dinner, an annual event in the late winter/early spring, at the suggestion of our hostess, Anca Butura. What a wonderful weekend. Anca was right; we had a delightful time! The people of NOTL are lovely. And at the head of the class is Anca, the heart and soul of the Williams Gate B&B. Our stay at the B&B was wonderful, as usual, and it was an extra treat to wake up to breakfast of delightful recipes each morning - prepared with such care. When she told us how she made the Peach preserves, I thought myself the luckiest girl in the world. It was good to be back to the WGB&B - and it is fun to see how every time we stay, we see the updates, the changes, the improvements Anca is making to the little white house with the big heart. I suppose a B&B is like art - it is never quite finished. There is always something to do, some changes you want to make when you are as dedicated as Anca is, to making the WGB&B the best that it can be. Finally, Anca, I was not surprised to learn, is very well respected and loved among the other B&B owners, restauranteurs and vinters who participated in the Progressive Dinner. It made me proud to participate, as her B&B guests. Thanks, Anca!

Room Tip: Any room is great; both apartments are delightful

The Williams Gate is spotlessly clean, the location ideal, the service outstanding, and host, Anca, warm and charming. And, oh what delicious breakfasts! Each morning, timed perfectly, piping hot, and served delightfully, the selections were absolutely scumptious! What a wonderful feeling to go on vacation and feel so at home.

This B&B was great! Good location, just minutes from the main Niagara on the Lake area. There was great parking, so we were able to leave and explore the region. We had a seperate entrance and the rooms were very spacious. Clean beds and bathrooms, and fantastic breakfast in the morning. Our host, Anca, was wonderful and very welcoming. I would highly recommend Williams Gate for couples and families.

Really good service from the lovely hostess. Large breakfast each morning served whenever you like, however lazy you're feeling! It really is a short walk to the main street and the lakefront as well, so very convenient. If you're feeling like more of a walk there are three vineyards within about 30 minutes, including Joseph's, which we would recommend.

As B&Bs go, it is very spacious, with your own kitchenette and lounge. Really cosy and spotless, perfect to lounge around after a hard day's relaxation!

This was my1st B&B. It was amazing. Breakfast was superb and more than what 2 people could ever eat. Anca was a very caring and doting hostess. Could not have asked for more. Will come back again, absolutely great get away.

This was my second time staying at this B&B and I truly loved it. I really can’t understand why this is not no.1 of places to stay in Niagara on the Lake. The cleanliness is remarkable, I don’t know how Anca (they owner) manages to keep the rooms so clean. I have now stayed in both the one bedroom suite upstairs and the two bedroom suite downstairs and it is truly a home from home. When we arrived we were greeted by Anca and shown around our rooms. This time we were staying in the two bedroom suite with friends. They both loved this place too.
The layout consists of two large bedrooms a sitting room with large sofas, tv, video cd player etc. There is also a well equipped kitchen with dining area and large bathroom with shower and bath. In the morning as this is a B&B Anca brings in a HUGE delicious breakfast. Unfortunately we were only staying one night but as it was our friends first time to Canada and Niagara on the lake she made us lovely blueberry pancakes with real maple syrup. WOW!!!
My only complaint about this place is it is so far away from Scotland and unfortunately won’t be visiting again this year.
A truly amazing B&B!
