This is a very pleasant place to rest your head. The owners are knowledgeable, very kind and responsive to your needs. Breakfasts are plated at 9:00 a.m. and always include a fruit serving, croissant or scone (when we were there), an entree and dessert (very civilized). Serving sizes are more European, reasonable and keeps you going all day. We found we did not want to eat again until late in the afternoon, if at all. I don't have a sweet tooth so preferred the savoury selections but the majority of people who we met loved the sweet selections. We stayed in the Loft and it is a lovely set up, 2 king beds and a private bathroom with tub and shower which is quite large, however, if you have any limitations with mobility or knee problems or hip issues, it is not the best room to stay in as it is difficult to get up and down the stairs (narrow and steep) All other rooms however are easily accessible. The grounds are breathtaking, the home charming, the music during breakfast was calming. I would return here over and over again without hesitation. Your beds are made up and the room tidied and towels replaced while you are at breakfast so if you are the type who likes to return to your room after to shower or whatever, you may want to ask them to wait until you finish getting ready after breakfast to service your room. Personally, i would have liked to know that this was their routine as it came as a surprise the first time i returned to the room after breakfast and would not have left the room the way I did if I knew someone was coming into it prior to my return. It is a lovely 5 to 10 minute walk to the downtown core and we found we could not hear other guests at night. It was as if we had the place to ourselves. Truly a very relaxing experience.

My husband and I have done considerable traveling and have stayed in a variety of Hotels, Inns and Bed and Breakfasts. Rarely have we come across accommodations that combine beautiful setting, exquisite building and rooms, convenience, fabulous gourmet breakfasts and above all friendly, helpful considerate hosts, Colleen and Rick.

Room was nice with everything we were looking for, including fireplace, double jacuzzi tub. Breakfasts were sumptuous and Rick and Colleen were very personable and set a nice tone for the guests to chat over the table. We enjoyed the locatin as it was a short walk, even in the rain (with an umbrella) to the amenties of the old downtown, including some excellent restaurants.
