“The Full Ambiance of Niagara-on-the-Lake”
Reviewed 24 January 2011

In July we spent several days of our honeymoon in the clean, beautifully decorated Cousin Amelia’s Quarters of Brockamour Manor. Like the rest of the inn, it reflected the full ambiance of Niagara-on-the-Lake. The charming building, surrounded by the lovingly cared for grounds, will not disappoint you. And once you have had breakfast with Rick and Colleen, you will have a new mark to measure other breakfasts by. Few experiences in my life have been this pleasant. That is why on the day of our departure last July we booked this July’s visit! I even hesitated in writing this review in part because I am not sure I want others to know of this gem. You almost want to keep it to yourself.

It was a real treat to stay at Brockamour Manor. Rick and Colleen were wonderful hosts for our large group of friends! The 4 course breakfast was decadent and delightful with lots of home made treats to top it off! We enjoyed their living space and we felt right at home in this comfortable and cosy B & B! They are very knowledgeable about the area and will not hesitate to guide you with any of your needs! A wonderful way to pass a November weekend, wine tasting, dining out and winding down at their B & B!

We were overwhelmed by this Bed and Breakfast rich with history and romance. The beauty of it is unparalleled. It is the oldest home in NOTL but offers the luxuries of today. I enjoyed getting up in the morning, to have my quiet time, sitting on the porch looking out at the gardens.

Rick made an amazing breakfast both mornings and I savored every bite. HIs knowledge of the history of, not only the house, but all of NOTL was fascinating. We enjoyed his humor and just talking with him.

It is about 5 blocks away from the center of town which is good and bad. It was good because there was less traffic and noise. It was "bad" because it was a bit of a walk to and from town which was actually enjoyable except one of the chilly nights.

The room was cozy, clean and comfortable. I got the best night of sleep on the most comfortable bed! The bathroom was HUGE and had a two person hot tub...fantastic!

There were two things that we found odd but would NOT deter us from staying there again. First, my husband pulled up the covers on our bed before we left the first morning. When we got back our room and bathroom had clearly been cleaned but our bed was not made. The covers were still just sloppily pulled up from what my husband had done and the throw pillows were still on the chair. I am still confused as to why our bed was not made and can only figure they forgot or assumed we wanted it as my husband had left it. Second, be prepared to decide on a tip. When you pay, with a credit card, there is a line for a tip and a total. It also prints what the equivalent of 15%, 20% and 25% are. We were not prepared for this and weren't sure how to handle it.

Other than those two minor issues, our stay was perfect. We will definitely be back to NOTL and will definitely stay at the Brockamour again.

We traveled to NOTL with another couple. This was our first B&B in NOTL. Rick, the owner, was gracious and a capable innkeeper. His wife (and co-innkeeper) was away for the weekend so he had to do it all and he did it well. Rooms were clean and the breakfast was excellent on both days. Other than a bit of a problem with the internet (which Rick fixed right away), there was nothing disappointing about our stay. The location was about 5 blocks from the center of town so we didn't feel in the center of it all but everything else was to our liking.

Indulged, pampered, senses pleased, total comfort, what more could you want?

Beautiful grounds enhance this impeccable property and provide privacy even in high season. A short walk to the "action" and theatre makes the location ideal. No crowds, no noise, yet extremely convenient.

The gourmet breakfasts are creative, magnificently presented, healthy, and so filling that the short walk to the shops is happily required. You won't go hungry here.

Coleen and Rick pay attention to every detail and provide complete service regardless of the situation. What more could you want?

The charming rooms are well decorated and provide all that you need or want. We could have been happy in any of them.

We would return in a heartbeat. Hands down, you can't do any better.

My husband and I were at the Brockamour for a 4 night anniversary get away and thoroughly enjoyed this B&B. We stayed in the sister Isabella suite. The room was just large enough and provided beautiful natrual lighting from the large picture window. We loved the spa tub too. the bed was comfy, although was a little too soft for my husband. As it was summer, we didn't use the fireplace, but did appreciate the ability to connect to the internet with wireless throughout the Manor. Rick and Colleen, the owner's, were friendly, accomodating and made us feel at home. If you stay, plan on a delicious and PLENTIFUL breakfast.
If you've never been to NOTL, you'll be in for a treat. The Brockamour is located close to the main shops and restaurants and you can walk to the Niagra River, Lake Ontario and the Shaw Fesitval theater from the B&B. We toured several wineries, which are scattered throughout the region. Also drove to the Falls- about 20-30 mins. away.
We look forward to another visit to NOTL and will stay at the Brockamour again.

Just blocks from all the lovely shops and the theaters. We've stayed here for 3yrs in a row during the Shaw Festival. Luscious, elegant rooms; fresh (and I mean some items are from their garden!) delicious breakfasts; warm inviting hosts. They have a lovely front porch and pretty sitting area in the garden. Best place to relax and unwind. Bring your own noshes and wine or tour the vineyards in the area. Easy walk to restaurants, shops and theaters.
