Maria's Bed and Breakfast
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed 2 March 2014

After an afternoon of snowshoeing at one of the nearby wineries, we arrived at Maria's to a friendly welcome from Kent and found our suite, the "Treetop" , to be a comfortable and spacious place. Having gone out for dinner in town, we returned to make ourselves comfortable with the fireplace and a movie in the DVD player. Talk about a comfortable night's sleep!! The mattress is about the best we've encountered in any knid of accomadation we've stayed in. Isn't that what staying somewhere should be all about1? In the morning Kent prepared a breakfast of excellent taste and variety, which set us off in good form to see the "frozen" Falls!!
Just one night, but we couldn't have had a better experience!!

We stayed in the Bordeaux suite for two nights for our anniversary. It was a beautiful house and a beautiful room. Kent, the owner, was extremely friendly and made us very comfortable in what was a new experience for us (staying at a Bed and Breakfast that is). He also prepared DELICIOUS breakfasts and took special care to meet my high-maintenance dietary needs (no gluten, no dairy, no chocolate) without sacrificing any flavour or quality.

It's a great location, near all of the local NOTL amenities, but also a mere 20 minute drive from both the Falls and St. Catherines.

We are already planning on going back in the summer, and Kent was nice enough to let us see the other rooms before we left, both of which looked fantastic, too!

Highly recommend.

Room Tip: Bordeaux was luxurious but we were very pleasantly surprised when we actually saw the other two in p...

We spent 2 nights at this fantastic B & B. Very friendly service, wonderful breakfast, clean and comfortable room and very quiet. Staying in Niagara on the Lake is preferable to Niagara Falls, as the town is much quieter after the crowds at Niagara Falls. The breakfasts are well cooked by Kent with a good variety. Highly recommended.

We only had one night to stay at Kent and Nancy's wonderful Bed and Breakfast, but I wish we had more time. It was a fantastic house and very comfortable. The Bordeaux suite we stayed in had a surprisingly and enjoyable large Jacuzzi tub and cozy fireplace. The breakfast was phenomenal, french toast casserole with bacon and local fruit. We definitely plan on coming back in the summer!

First off, the service is outstanding. Kent, the owner/chef extraordinaire/all around really nice guy, treated us like we were royalty. Surprise chocolate chip cookies, surprise treats in our room, going away gift, etc, etc.

Second, the B&B itself is beautiful, and the room we stayed in (Bordeaux) outstanding. Gas fireplace, flat screen TV, jacuzzi hot tub, king size bed, balcony... what more could I ask for?

Finally, the food. My god, the food. Kent's breakfasts were outstanding: first day, fruit salad, canadian bacon, scrambled eggs, lemon loaf, cookies... all homemade by Kent, of course. Second day: fresh croissant, fruit salad, french toast with caramelized bananas, and bacon. And more cookies. Come hungry.

I've given other B&Bs a five star rating before, but this one is a five star plus.

Would unreservedly recommend to family or friends.

Room Tip: Bordeaux Room is the biggest. It has a fireplace, mini-fridge, his and her sinks, jacuzzi, king size...

This is an incredibly late review but better late than never :) Mike and I stayed with Kent and Nancy just after we were married back in July. We had an incredible experience with Kent, we were sorry we didn't get a chance to meet Nancy this time. Kent's hospitality and knowledge of fun things to do was incredible! He was so kind in sharing some great wineries and local microbreweries...and Kent was even so kind as to enjoy a beer with us after spending an evening in their beautifully landscaped backyard! He's relatable genuineness was so wonderful and very much appreciated on such great occasion to celebrate! Thank you for such a fabulous experience :) We will certainly be back!

Room Tip: We stayed on the main floor room. Had a separate entrance was awesome!!!

My husband and I stayed at Maria's from November 16-18, 2013. We stayed in the Bordeaux Suite room and we loved it! The fireplace was nice and the jacuzzi worked great! Kent and Nancy were great hosts and Kent is a great chef! They went out of their way to make sure our first year anniversary was very memorable and it certainly was. We are very glad we chose Maria's as our first year anniversary destination. We would highly recommend this room in particular for anyone celebrating an anniversary as it is a very romantic setting in wine country!

Things we really enjoyed:
The personal touch we experienced from our hosts - we received chocolate dipped fruit in our room with a card from our hosts.

The movies at our disposal that we were able to borrow and watch in our room.

The room cleanliness.

The room was beautiful!
